It was great... I honestly don't remember there being text on the screen because the voice instructions were about as perfect as they could be. Probably one of the best tutorials for anything I've seen in reach, honestly.

I got out of the glitching scene back in H2/Early H3 because they started putting invisible walls everywhere (call me a sucker, but I loved just being able to get out of a map and go for a walk WITHOUT wasting 3 hours of my life), but I loved this video... it ~~almost~~ made me want to try it... but IMO the payout is too small. If it would let me walk around the outside of the world H1/H2 style? I'd be all for it.

Fundaising pro-tip... ask at work, ask friends, have family members ask their friends... basically, I took 10 minutes drafting an email that went to everyone close to me, and $850 was the result so far... and I anticipate more -- looking to get at least $1k. I want that kit!

I'm sure you can... I did my first century (excuse all the pictures of me with retarded faces -- idk what I was doing) a while ago after not really training much at all. I was incredibly out of shape, and I did it on a shitty old hard-tail mountain bike. It took forever, but I did it! If you can ride 42 miles, you can ~~probably~~ definitely do 100.

All of that being said, if you're looking to do ANOTHER century after that first one, August 18th. Think about it. :P

I'm sure they do... but going out and meeting people involves leaving the computer. I was responding to the "do what you love and you'll find someone" mentality. This is great, and quite effective, if you already enjoy doing things that don't involve staying inside.

I completely agree... If someone asks me to do something for them, even if it's not my job, I'll probably walk them through it or just do it. Really depends on the person.

I try to walk as many people through the process as possible though, because this helps keep it from happening again. I've also found that people feel a little bit more like you're treating them like equals when you're not just doing everything for them.

If it's something they can do themselves, give them the tools to do it and let them take care of it.

To each their own. I like to do all my tweaking when I first get the machine, and then just have it work for a few years. I work on computers all day at work... I just want to come home to a working machine at this point.

I had an O2 sensor go on me... if I were you I'd hope it's that. Super easy fix... $80 for the part and about 10 minutes of work.

Do you have a check-engine light or anything? Someone with an OBD2 reader may be able to get you a problem code to help narrow it down (I'd lend you mine, but I live nowhere near Rochester)... You could always take it to the shop for the free diagnostic and then deny the service and fix it yourself. That would probably save you a lot of troubleshooting time.

... wth? Why? Buy top of the line and it should do you just fine for at LEAST 5 years.

I paid $1200 building my current machine 4 years ago, and it still has no problem running anything I can throw at it.

Upgrading every 2 years is a phenomenal waste of money.

That's nice... the general population sees the downsides of it being huge and not portable to be big enough not to use one. Plain and simple...

I use a desktop too, but you have to understand that not everyone cares about it being fully upgrade-able or cold. (I don't buy 'generally faster' we use laptops at work that blows my 4 year old PC out of the water)
