True story: me and a housemate were chillin' at home one day a couple of years back, when we heard some truly chilling, blood-curdling screams coming from nearby.

We lived in a bungalow surrounded by high-rises at the time, so he grabbed a baseball bat, and I grabbed a hammer, and we went onto the roof to see if we could hear where they were coming from. Our plan really didn't extend far beyond that.

Primed, wide-eyed, and ready to Do Some Good, we figured someone was being literately tortured right next door to us, and were about to jump down and bust in there when a smart-looking lady walks out, and calmly asks: "Can I help you?". The nightmarish screaming, by the way, was still emanating from the open door behind her.

She told us -- the two armed vigilantes on the roof next door -- that they were a film company, running auditions for 'murder victim'. I stood there, blood up, and little stunned, and said: "...Can I give you my resume?". And that's how I got my first job in the film industry.
