Empty film canisters, if you're into photography. They're airtight, opaque, and fairly normal to have on hand. Fill some film canisters with your trees and fill the others with actual film, and you're good.

our water pressure isn't that good to start with, and my hose attachment doesn't fit very well (it actually sprays out the wrong end of the attachment, a bit) so I really have to turn it up full blast. But in your case, just turn up the pressure to an appropriate amount.
