What has been your most painful physical experience? by forgetabouttheclownin AskReddit

[–]thatoneguy889 2 points3 points ago

I've had two matricectomies the first time the doctor didn't even wait for the anesthetic to start working and dug right in. I was crying and felt like I was going to throw up. My toe completely numbed by the time he was done. The second time was a different doctor that knew what the fuck he was doing and I didn't feel anything. Just knowing the pain you felt was worse than mine because you didn't have any anesthetic at all makes me cringe.

You're lucky. Chronic migraines are hereditary in my family and about two years ago I started getting 1-3 a week, and still do. I've been to three different doctors who can't explain it. It sucks, but you just learn to manage.

I know full well that correlation does not equal causation, but to say that they are never related makes you seem very ignorant. I work in Los Angeles and during the protests my commute varied between double and triple what it normally does (fucking up my entire worth schedule) during the protests which then returned to normal when they dissipated. And a buddy of mine has owned a store in downtown for almost ten years. His store has never been empty except for the four days the protesters decided to assemble outside his shop. In those four days he had six customers total because they blocked all pedestrian traffic. They weren't protesting his shop, but his business suffered because of it. Like I said before correlation does not always equal causation, but to say that loads of businesses were negatively impacted in the same time period and there was no outside cause is foolish.

How I see Assassin's Creed III as a Canadian by anzlolin funny

[–]thatoneguy889 0 points1 point ago

I was actually talking about taxes (mainly with importing and exporting good between states), currency regulation (counterfeiting was easy and some states developed their own currency), even interstate rail regulation was needed.

As far as political motivations are concerned this was the the time that the Republican Party was gaining popularity and they got the public to blame the economic panic of 1857 on tariff policies of the south in order to impose more regulation. Which the south took as yet another threat to their perceived constitutional rights.

The last straw came when the south wanted to secede (another right they felt was given by the Constitution) and the federal government would not allow it. As another commenter pointed out, the bomb was already primed and ready to blow. All slavery did was light the fuse.

You're point about "torturing and killing them all willy nilly" is utterly and completely wrong. Sure the slaves weren't treated the best, but they were the owner's livelihood. If a slave couldn't work (injury, death or otherwise) then production went down and, subsequently, less money would be made. Not only that, but slaves were considered assets and therefore, included in the net worth of the slave owner. Because slaves were virtually decades worth of free labor, buying one was not cheap/easy.

Yeah, because political reform, economic, agricultural, and territorial sanctions/regulations had absolutely nothing to do with it.

'Soccer' vs Football. So TRUE by Cowboy_Bebopin videos

[–]thatoneguy889 0 points1 point ago

Anybody with any experience that requires planning will tell you that nothing ever goes according to plan. EVER. In American football you can never accurately guess what the defense is going to do until seconds before the play when you are already on the ball. This is when all the players (in all positions) adjust and coordinate their blocking and route patterns with each other right up until the ball is snapped to ensure that the play will still be successful. The quarterback may even see something that was missed when the play was called and call a completely different play at the last second. At that point the previous process starts all over again. To say each person has one job is over-simplifying and somewhat ignorant. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just educate yourself before you talk so matter-of-factly.

Edit: Madden is a horrible example of playing American Football in tactics and player ability.
