That's a very bizarre way of breaking up with someone.

Well, I think you managed to take a picture of Discovery with your phone and that's it. What do you want, a medal?

Since everyone is enamored with The Game, I'll ask about one of the other many books you've written, one that is imminently more important than getting a date.

Why did you seem to go absolutely batshit insane to write Emergency? Some of the training you went through just seemed crazy. I do know that a certain brunette Russian lady from South Florida confirmed to me that you did in fact go off the reservation for some of this stuff.

Wait a minute, people lie on the internet? (philosoraptor) by topicalityin AdviceAnimals

[–]tehbizz -1 points0 points ago

No, I disagree with them because they're simply dicks. I was very active in /r/atheism for a very long time before the din of "fuck every religion, we're better than that, smarter than that" garbage was absolutely unbearable. There was never any thoughtful discussion going on any more, it was simply people railing on the same points minute-after-minute. It was a place of actual thoughtful, insightful conversation for a long time and then devolved into nothing but angry image macros and Christian trolls.

The rest of what you said is completely irrelevant. Completely. Irrelevant. You live in the South? So what. I too am from the South and lived in three separate southern States until I was 22 then I decided to move even further south into Florida. You bringing that up is irrelevant since religious intolerance exists everywhere and is much worse west of the Mississippi than in the South. Most of the screenshots are made up shit or blatant trolling for lulz just to post on reddit. It's not debate, it's not discussion, it's fake or simply setting someone up. And it's a boring trope unfortunately attributed to most if not all atheists; we're not all pissed off an angry just because a tiny portion of us are.

I'm glad you view me as worse than a subreddit full of dicks, it doesn't mean anything to me at all. My life in no way revolves around what people think of me on reddit. Downvote away, it won't mean a single thing to me. People bitch about the asshats from /r/atheism because it's the proverbial letting the monkeys out of the cage. They're full of vitriol and damned determined to let everyone know, relevant or not.

Militarized to Its Bones: The police occupation of the Wall Street area in response to the Occupy protests is the result, since 9/11, of a transformation of this country into a full-scale surveillance-intelligence-homeland-security state by SolInvictusin politics

Except it's entirely an outcropping from the WTO protests in Seattle in 1999 and specifically modeled after FTAA in Miami in 2003. The militarization has little to do with 9/11. There's a reason these tactics and methods are called the "Miami Model" and not the "9/11 model"

Yep, he's a shill and he knows it. Without all of the product pumping he does, I'm not sure anyone would know about him at this point. And the recent kerfuffle he made over Google+'s TOS and the backlash against that? He's in a hole he won't get out of so easily.

I am curious, how is it actually better? I've heard a ton of terrible kvlt crap, and it's not the sound that puts me off, it's fact that it simply stinks. Lyrics are typically fairly bone-headed and boring (if sung in English), the music itself is atrocious with poorly executed riffs or leads and almost monotonous programmed drums, whose rhythm varies little to none in a song even through a bridge or segue.

Now, I've heard good kvlt stuff too but those artists also make strident attempts to make their own music sound different or some how progress from prior releases, even if the musical style stays the same. Most one off one-man kvlt bands release something that sounds like every other band out there and move on.

If by "black metal" you mean all one-(wo)man-bands-in-a-garage-or-bedroom recording into trash cans or 4 tracks, then yes, black metal is supposed to be raw. But no, not all black metal sounds like this. In fact, only the "trve kvlt" stuff does, for the most part or those going for this sound specifically. Janaza has a raw sound because I highly doubt she has anywhere to actually record besides in a secluded place.

Charging for concert photography? by smfrrrin photography

I'm not trying to trick or deceive anyone either, I was merely stating that ownership depends on what your release states or doesn't state. I know of no professional releases that do not explicitly state in clear cut language who owns the photos and who holds the copyrights, which are not always mutually exclusive. My releases are worded in no way to trick anyone and are written in very plain language, stating things such as

"I understand that upon signing of this event photography release, I have no rights to the Content and all rights to the Content belong to the photographer(s)"

Which is then followed by an entire paragraph of what can and cannot be done with the photos once delivered to the client. I make everything as explicit as possible.

My promo release is worded differently since all parties involved understand that promo shots are used for promo materials and thus have a much different use than a concert photo. It's very open and easy to understand when you say "can be used for EPK, cannot be used in editorial content (digital or print) with modification (effects application, etc)"

Rights ownership should be explained in every release and after all, if the client doesn't like the terms, they can always strike them out and negotiate the terms with you directly like any other contract. Then you can either write up a new contract with the new terms or have the modified version initialed, witnessed, and notarized so it's all legal.

they own the pictures, not you.

That solely depends on what the release you have them sign says. All my concert releases clearly state, about three times, that the client has no rights to the photos. I think two bands have noticed it. Of course, my release also specifically details what they can do with the pictures so that use is very easy to understand.
