Interesting. This kind of training would only work on people who weren't naturally ambidextrous though, so it probably happens to left-handers more than right-handers. And, generally, left-handers just are more intelligent people anyway. ;)

If Spike were naturally ambidextrous (as opposed to having learned ambidexterity) he might have just stuck with being right-handed since there's no preference.
