Manchester United have bid rejected for Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa by Glyndmin soccer

[–]tastycakeman -1 points0 points ago

But with normal transfers very early on in the summer, you'd think Dortmund, United, and Kagawa's agent have all been talking about it and putting out some numbers.

Either Kagawa and United are already decided on terms, and just want Dortmund to sign off quickly, or Dortmund have not been talking at all (which would be dumb) and forcing United to make a first offer. Dortmund in this case should be calling first dibs. If it's just a matter of 1-2 mil, then it seems like Dortmund are out of the loop here. Kagawa ideally would be going for more at around 20-24mil.

Negotiations, man.

What is the point of this. Kagawa wants out, United very clearly want him. Dortmund are being pedantic thinking they have control over the situation, squeezing an extra 1 million out.

Dempsey hints at Fulham exit (Sky Sports). WHERE DO YOU THINK HE'S GOING?! by trojan4390in soccer

Germany? As much as Italy would be cool, don't see him fitting in that well.

2 bucks says he stays at Fulham though and has the gift shop named after him.

Non Liverpool supporters. Who do you fear more (on the Liverpool bench): Rafael Benitez or Andre Villas-Boas? And why? by Rencoretin soccer

It wasn't that the players couldn't perform, there was a break in communication between the tactics and the man management. AVB failed miserably at that, and culminated when Lampard called him out mid-season.

I personally felt that his tactics were always good in theory. Rafa instead is more of a money-ball player, where he finds all the right pieces and then says 'go out and do what you do best'. Tactically, not as aware as the chess-playing AVB, but management-wise, totally different. It's like the difference of optimizing fantasy football and Football Manager. If it had been AVB at Inter post-mourinho, I think AVB would've lasted longer.

Where Rafa needs time to put together his team, AVB needs time to implement his tactics. Not sure either would get it at Liverpool.

those two are like the neighborhood kids who need to have eachother around to stay occupied. they bicker and fight, but secretly they love it. that's why Mou says he misses england/italy, cause that's where Rafa is!

AVB is by far one of the top 5 tacticians in the world right now. Rafa isn't in the top 10.

Betting suspended on AVB joining Liverpool as next manager by nikcubin soccer

[–]tastycakeman 3 points4 points ago

Liverpool doesn't seem like a good fit for him.

I feel like he would not have the full support of the owners/board, and he'd go in with the 'overhaul' mentality. There are players there that basically run the club, so kind of similar situation in Chelsea. I guess the question is how much transfer money would he have.

And on the off shoot that he does do really well, it'd be miserable for me as a Chelsea fan. I wish AVB much success, just in Italy or some place far away. It'd just be too embarrassing for him to prove Chelsea wrong.
