Could someone explain to me, what's inherently wrong with 1700 people coming over here and working in the mines? by DiggSuxNowin australia

[–]takinter -1 points0 points ago

It because they are taking the high paying jobs, that should be reserved for "aussies", rather than the low paid shitty jobs that "aussies" don't want like cleaning, 7/11 servers, petrol shop attendents, picking fruit, process workers etc.

Works for me on the play store and for "live camming", which is what it's primary purpose was for. "Valued Customer" as my name and a fictional adddress are what's called for in our privacy reduced society.

speed camera car torched by Rosaleein australia

It shouldn't be about "whats easist to police" coppers should be on the road, pulling police over for breaking road rules like in the old days. Obviously it costs more to have police patrolling roads and nabbing motorists, it is revenue negative where as cameras are revenue positive.

How much cash do these cameras rake in, and they can't afford to pay a meatbag to sit in the car keeping an eye on things? Serves them right for leaving it unattended.

As i see it, there are 3 road rules that authorities care about, speed, red light running (policed by cameras) and drink driving (policed by booze buses). The rest of the road rules are entirely optional, a fact that more road uses seem to realise ever day.

I'm not sure that allowing people to play TF2 or Minecraft better is a legitimate reason to spend public money.

And if you had of sent that comment in a letter to the editor when copper was starting to be rolled out they would have wondered what the fuck you were taliking about. The truth is the NBN will be used for purposes for have yet to invent, like the internet that now runs on copper was not in the minds of any one early last century.

Problem is, the private sector will build an, unless they get hold out for "incentives" from the government. So in the end, the taxpayer is going to pay, in one way or another, for an NBN.

"Really, what's the difference if I download a 720p HD rip in 20 minutes or 8 minutes?"

Just rub it in, why don't you?

http://www.nbn.gov.au/frequently-asked-questions/

Will my landline phone cost more if I connect to the NBN?

No. The government is committed to the continued availability of voice only services for those who need it, at no greater price than they pay now.

So, if you want a landline only, you will not have to pay more than you are now. If you have a scratchy landline that your current provider just can't seem to fix, NBN Co will fix it for you. Also, you could just use naked internet and VOIP, no landline. Voice on the NBN will all be carried as VOIP anyway.

It helps when the national broadsheet papers owners have a major business within it's group that will be majorly threatened by the NBN and therefore supporting Abbott in negative reporting on the NBN.

And when they were rolling out the copper wire phone network, luddities like you were heard to have said, "Why build a copper wire phone network, to talk to family and friends with, we have a postal service, just write them a letter."

It's simple, sack TAFE teachers, reduce them to life of crime, when they get caught, fast track them to Baileau Prisions INC. facilities, then you have resident teachers, still on the public dime, rehabilitating offenders. Start robbing soft targets to get on the blue-stone college enrollment list.

Student loan. Ted has some friends from the top end of town working on a scheme to give you a competitive rate right now. Expect to see them when the memory of these cuts fade.
