TROPHY CASE

Want to start a gaming group. Advice? by skeletonhatin boardgames

[–]skeletonhat[S] 0 points1 point ago

Nope, my local store is in the city 45min-1h away.

I wanted to start a more local one. I was considering the local cafe as our meeting point assume the owner was okay with that

I hoped for an agricola playthrough. I'm reading the rules for the first time and it's mind boggling.

Does a weapon that menaces with spikes have a higher damage rating or is it just for show?

Duly noted.

Pandemic came highly recommended (and one of our players works in a hospital)

Agricola because we're living out in the country and we all like agriculture

Europa 1912 because we like ticket to ride so much

And small world because I love a good fantasy/comedy mix.

It's my first time playing all of them and my first forray beyond the gateway games (Catan and Carcassone) I went a little nuts ordering online.

It's my first time playing all three

The micro is hard to hold even with my tiny hands. The SP's clamshell design keeps the screen safe too

The best advice i ever received about marriage was, "Don't Forget to date your wife!", Reddit, what is the best advice you have received for a relationship or marriage? by ProductiveVeteranin AskReddit

[–]skeletonhat 0 points1 point ago

Don't marry someone just like you. Marry someone with different hobbies, likes, dislikes. You'll discover more new things and you'll have a reason to do things on your own too. Time apart is just as important as time together.

Where did you hear of DF? by parlor_tricksin dwarffortress

[–]skeletonhat 2 points3 points ago

Long long ago I was super into roguelikes and I heard of the legendary difficulty of DF spoken in hushed whispers. While I tried a few times and unsuccessfully made any progress I tried one last time with an entire weekend and the capnduck tutorials at my disposal. Me and the capn made it happ'n

What TV series had a good ending? by ThisIsNotTokyoin AskReddit

[–]skeletonhat 0 points1 point ago

Things were left to interpretation. I find this a good "resolution" because Even though the show ended two years ago I can still discuss many points over a pint with friends and still have fresh views and ideas.

Just because something wasn't served to you on a silver platter and heaven forbid you had to think abstractly doesn't make it bullshit.

What TV series had a good ending? by ThisIsNotTokyoin AskReddit

[–]skeletonhat 1 point2 points ago

Not necessarily. I ask them why they didn't like it and they all say the same "Well they were all dead the whole time!" so clearly they didn't get it.
