This comment is going to be full of assumptions. Lets see how far off base I am, but I want to include my train of thought. I've heard that insects with such bold colors have evolved in such a way because it makes them appear poisonous to possible predators. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world insects seem to be more concerned with camouflaging themselves from predators. Is there a reason for this?

TL;DR: Why are there green crickets in US, pastel-colored crickets in Madagascar?

I don't know if anyone can answer this one for you OP. I smoked throughout college - my roommates and friends all smoked. I quit within a year of graduating after my second concerted effort to stop smoking.

If you only smoke when you go out with your friends and no where else, you can either make an effort to not smoke when going out, or not go out quite as much. Being around people that smoke, when you're trying to quit, is really hard.

I'm sure your family will do everything they can to support you and will be relieved their dad/mom has quit smoking. As someone with a father that has smoked and chewed every since I was born, it is something that is in the back of my mind a lot - when is all this nicotine abuse gonna catch up to him?
