Tried something like this in VS2010 a while ago. Unfortunately the compiler and optimizer are not quite up to speed doing a god job taking all the overhead away. If you use this for a popular function, say a logger, You end up creating hundreds of micro-classes and functions which take up quite a bit of space in your executable.
