Which academic societies are actually meaningful on a job résumé?

It's not the societies themselves, but what you do in them. If you do things like volunteer in the community or hold an office, then it might be worth it.

Also if you're planning on staying in the area it might be a good way to make connections with other professionals in your field for references.

Captel is a great job to have while looking for a job. Also check out some temp agencies. That's how I got my full time gig.

The interview is really just a series of small tests that I mentioned before...pretty much pass/fail. If you're a decent speller, have a decent typing speed, can listen well, and listen to something and repeat it back like a second after (easier than it sounds) you've got the job.

I no longer work there, but it's a good job to have while looking for something else.

They quite literally gave me an interview on the spot. So long as you can pass a few tests (spelling/typing speed/can you talk and listen at the same time) you're golden

The name Mary. Between the nursery rhymes and religious songs there is no shortage of material. Asked how my garden is doing, where my sheep is, how the other twin is/ if I have a twin, and don't even get me started when christmas comes around.

Does anyone who know the artist is of the hot air balloon one?

I've been trying to find one that I saw a while back that is definitely by the same artist. Its of a couple walking through a park, and I haven't been able to find it again.

Thanks for your input! I guess I have the first baccalaureate degree w/ 2 majors as i only received 1 piece of paper? My university was not very clear on this issue.

I have though about listing my Writing degree like, Writing (Rhetoric emphasis) but was afraid it might look tacky, or not tell enough?

I really really wish girl scouts were similar to boy scouts in this respect. Yeah, it was nice doing arts and crafts, volunteering in the community, or going to daytrips and camps with chaperoned activities, but I can't say I ever learned any useful life skills from these...

(just my experience in GS...maybe/hopefully others were different or things have changed since I went through. I am insanely jealous of the experiences and life skills that the boyscouts get to have)
