Agree with you all the way! Also, people who blame society for all their problems: Shut up and stop blaming society, blame yourself.

Those look pretty sweet. I'm gonna look into those! Thanks so much dude! That looks like exactly what I want. EDIT: I tried on my helmet, then one of the beanies that I wear when I skate. Both had goggles on over the top. My beanie mangled my hair faaaaar less. It's my parents mainly though. I know that accidents can happen at any time, but generally I don't do things that are out of my ability. I work my way up and make sure I'm very comfortable with what I have before I do anything harder but they don't seem to understand that. My dad wears a helmet and he thinks that because he should, I should.

I see your point here. I think a beginner would benefit from wrist guards far more than an experienced rider (Where they may not be necessary) as experienced riders would have different types of falls than newbie riders.

I do agree with you for some extent. Helmets won't save you. Chances are if you're doing something that is dangerous enough to kill you without a helmet, helmets wouldn't help.

I guess I was speaking from my viewpoint (Intermediate to Advanced Rider) and not a first time beginner. Beginner-type falls would be much easier to hurt your wrists on than your head- so you were right there.

I wear a helmet because with a beanie, my hair gets all mangled, plus with helmets my goggles stay on a lot easier. I'd like to start wearing beanies though, as I've passed the beginner stage however I have a nasty habit catching edges on boxes and I wouldn't want to smack my head (More of a personal comfort-zone type thing. It gives me a somewhat false sense of security).

I think a beginner would definitely benefit from both but a more advanced rider wouldn't need wrist guards, as they would know how to fall without using their hands by then.

Still, I've hit my head pretty hard on rocks and boxes. Without a helmet- I think it would have been much worse than a sore head/ headache for 15 minutes. It comes down to personal preference in the end. I'd recommend a beginner to definitely wear a helmet. You can prevent yourself from putting your arms out, but stopping yourself from slamming your head into the ground is a lot harder to avoid.

Is it just me, or does $30.90 for 10 trips on our city's magnificent trains and buses seem a little steep? by BeefPieSoupin Adelaide

[–]rrrigel 0 points1 point ago

It is cheaper compared to a lot of other cites (European cities with bullet trains, but then again- those are bullet trains and not typical City buses and trains).

For me, it is quite reasonable, $10.30 for 10 Trips. High-School student ftw.

However, $30.90 seems to be pretty pricey though. If they really wanted to get people to use it- they'd make it cheaper and the prices reasonable for everyone. Make adults no more than $15 or $20 . That way young people that use public transport will be more inclined to use it when they're older.

I always keep on phone/ other valuables on me for this reason. Well, not specifically a shooting, but fire drills and such.

Obviously though, if there was a large panic accident like a shooting and I didn't have it with me- I'd definitely leave it and get the fuck out of there.

Thredbo isn't really centered for park riding. There's 3 terrain parks on the entire mountain (One for each difficulty).

If you want to muck around and wreck havoc for a bit, Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA IV) and Saints Row: The Third are both quite fun. On the easiest difficulty, Saints Row: The Third is quite easy, and once you finish (Hell, even after the introductory mission) you have access to planes, helicopters, fast cars, tanks and such.
