Atheism, I'm a lazy atheist. The agnostic. But I believe in infinity, if there are infinite universes and etc then everything else is infinite. And from that I know there is some sort of god-like being out there, somewhere. by dossierin atheism

Does that mean I'm not an atheist?

Yes, believing that gods exist makes you a theist. Specifically an agnostic-theist or possibly a deist. You are not an atheist, agnostic-atheist or otherwise.

I hope that helps.

What Is A Blessing From God? by FerociousImbecilein atheism

To answer that we would need at least one god and some form of blessings from said god.

Until then, the answer to the question "What Is A Blessing From God?" is 'a fairytale'.

Im sorry to rock the boat here but does anyone else find that their atheism has made them more scared of death? Honestly, I'm terrified of it. by ikkyuin atheism

But still, as an atheist to another, do you not ponder what death is and what it means to 'you'?

No. Death means I will be dead and gone. My death means my friends and loved ones will miss me.

That's it.

It is only religious people who embellish the issue.

He selects the kids in the line and tells them to get a pat-down not a scan so he can touch them. That makes him a sick pedophile.

He even said it himself, he selects the kids from the line and pats them down instead of letting them get scanned.

Only if you believe the OP, who is obviously a liar. And if he selects the kids from the line and demands they do pat-downs not scans...I think he sounds like a total pedo.

You're a lying scum. I don't believe a word of your story.

And as others have said, your job is to catch terrorists. Are petty criminals terrorists now? Is pot a WMD now?

You lying sack of crap. If you're going to make up lies to try to justify groping a kid, at least try to make it believable and coherent. Incase that was too subtle by the way, lusting after the kids and soliciting them for a pat-down instead of a scan so you could grope them makes you sound like a pedophile.

I don't know, I have always found "do what we say or we will kill you!" to be the most convincing religious argument. Historically it has the best track-record and is a favoured approach by the more successful of the organised religions.

[–]ristin 0 points1 point ago

No. Religion makes people focus on death and then dangles a (fake) lifeline to them.

It makes them more scared of death than they would be otherwise, and live their whole lives in mortal terror, hoping for the afterlife they were promised and not even savouring their real life while they have it.

By contrast atheism is the default position. Just the facts "you're alive now, you will die" and the obvious conclusion to savour the one life you have.

Religion makes believers more scared of death and also scared to live their life. Atheism does not make non-believers more fearful of death or render them unable to enjoy their lives.
