It is poorly balanced, it's inherent in the game. Minute advantages add up as the game progresses to overwhelming dominance. In a game like soccer, if you're losing 2-0 then you can still come back and win with 3-2. That is impossible in SC, which I think is a shame. The game rewards advantage with advantage, it would be like every time a goal was scored in soccer, you'd punish the losing team by taking away two of their players.
