My old dad punched a neighbor in the face who was way too aggressive in accusing me of things that I did not do (my step-brother did it). My dad had to reach over the cops shoulder to land the punch. This was at the front door of our house.

I am a white guy from California and moved to Cambodia in 1995 and lived there steadily for 2 years. I was single when I moved there and did marry a Cambodian woman. For me it has been a great experience, it allows me to basically have 2 lives, one in the US and one there.

My wife spent 20 years in a refugee camp and is classy, sharp, very attractive and practical. One of the hardest things is trying to get what I want at the store when she goes shopping. I now go to google images to show her what beer or peanut butter or whatever I want.

We have two sons and for some reason our mix of genes produced very tall kids for being 1/2 Asian, very tall if they were not Asian even. My kids are light-years ahead of me in terms of music, sports and just being cool as I was at their respective ages. My older son is just in his early teen years and has been to Cambodia 6 times.

The best advice has already been given here, go to Cambodia and see if it fits. I would stay at least 1 month and 2 would be better. You may end up not liking her after the first couple days and if so trip around SE Asia for the time you have allotted.

Best of luck.

Just to add, your deal is a bit different as you have a woman already in mind, arranged so to speak, when I was there I worked full-time in Cambodian owned companies and was exposed to many beautiful, marriageable ladies so had the benefit of taking time and figuring out what I was going to do. I did not go there to get married at all but you know how it is.

One more thing, April is so hot you cannot believe it, if you go in April stay by the beach is my advice. Kamphong Som is the bigger beach city and you will have fun there, I stay in Ream though, where we have a house, because it is smaller and I have always been able to go to a mile long white sand beach with nobody there but us. I have not been for 2 years though and this may have changed.

TIL Kimberly-Clark, the toilet paper (and other paper products) manufacturer holds a US Patent for a Thermonuclear Fusion chamber by zyamadain todayilearned

[–]pursatrat 0 points1 point ago

Not to downplay a post, but....Cool info though. Personal side-note, I have a 1/2 bother who I pretty much hate for many reasons. In 1967 or so he worked for Kimberley Clark and was selling hash to a co-worker who had already been arrested for hash possession and the cops set up buys to get my 1/2 bother. He went to the local jail, right across the street from my dads office and we could watch him washing cop cars during his incarceration.

Aren't some of you taking reddit a bit too seriously to propose this. Hey, I can dream also, but this seems desperate to me.
