Ladies, what's the deal!? by onceaslutalwaysaslutin sex

[–]petdance -1 points0 points ago

like you aren't what they really want.

You seem to be thinking that they only want one thing, which doesn't make sense. Why do you think that one's SO would only be turned on by only one type of person?

When I was a kid (early 70s) there was a kids TV show with two police officers on named Clancy and Mustard. Did you get promoted from being Officer Mustard?

Competitive eater Kobayashi was in Chicago. Said he'd never had a beef sandwich. So he ate six. In two minutes. by mickswaskoin chicago

I know that he dips his hot dogs in water.

He eats the hot dogs by splitting the frankfurter in half, dipping the buns in water, Sprite, or 7-Up and then stuffing both parts in his mouth. He calls this the Solomon Method. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeru_Kobayashi

I made up the ketchup thing following from that.

I heard that to help them go down easier, he dips his hot dogs in ketchup.

I wish I knew. I could have sworn it's from The Pragmatic Programmer but I couldn't find it. Googling has turned up nothing for me. I might have the exact wording wrong, but I love it.

At one point he told his congregation that people were eating their babies.

Ooh, thanks for reminding me, I need to head out for lunch.

Are you expecting that only those who have never done wrong can preach the Gospel? No Christian would claim such a thing. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." I've never seen anything from WBC that says "We are sin-free."

I'm not a Christian, and I certainly disagree with WBC's hateful rhetoric, but it's silly to point out "A-ha! A Christian who has sinned!" That all have sinned is a basic tenet of the faith.

Rude to ask what the salary is for a job prior to ~6 hour trip for an interview? by frankenpinein jobs

[–]petdance 11 points12 points ago

Present it as saving them time and trouble. "Before we go through all this, let's make sure we're in the same ballpark for salary expectations." Make it clear you want to save them time and money as well.

I was dumped because I wouldn't have sex. Everyone tells me it's essentially my own stupid fault. Are they right? by luiginutin relationship_advice

[–]petdance 7 points8 points ago

If I don't just want sex, am I out of luck for now? Where do I find like-minded people?

No, you're not out of luck. Just because one girl requires sex in your relationship doesn't mean they all do.

Don't try to guess at what "normal" is, or guess at what the statistical chances of your happiness are. You will just be miserable.

And you are absolutely right to not have sex because you don't want to have sex, or because the risk/reward ratio is too high. The only 100% effective form of birth control is abstinence.

My husband's life revolves around video games. by IFuckingHateVideoGamin relationships

[–]petdance 3 points4 points ago

Do not approach this as "this is unhealthy", because that is not your place to judge, and doing so is just accusing him of being a bad person, and that will go nowhere.

What are the effects on YOU? What is the problem YOU want solved? Do you not have enough income? Are you feeling ignored? Has your sex life disappeared? Those are problems that you can address.

Those questions aren't rhetorical: What ARE the effects on you? Why does it bother you that he plays video games 80 hours a week? I'm not saying your concerns aren't, but I'm trying to get you to say what the real problems are. If he lived alone, this wouldn't be a problem, but it's the effects on you that are the problem.

Please go to an Al-Anon meeting. They are everywhere. They will not tell you what to do, but you will find others who have been in your situation and who have gotten through it, and that can help you get through it as well.

The Illinois Senate voted 55-0 to ban employers from requiring workers or job applicants to grant access to social media. by 00000000000in chicago

This legislation is harmless and yet pointless. The "trend" of employers demanding access to social media of candidates is not a trend at all.

From my blog in April: The nameless "they" and the Facebook & job interview trend that isn't a trend.
