You know how mothers sometimes have gatherings where they can catch up with each other and not so subtly show off their children? Well during the winter break of my freshmen year in college I was subsequently dragged to one of those things in Southern California. Mothers were laughing it up in one room and the children were stuck in another room making dumplings. I look over to my left side and here is this kid who was terrible at folding the dumpling skin (he claims otherwise). We struck up conversation and it turns out we were going to the same college in Norcal and the same year (he was an engineer and I was a social science major). Swapped numbers and when we returned to school, we found out we actually had a good number of mutual friends.

According to him, for reasons I won't go into, the time was never right for him to ask me out. But at the end of junior year, he took a chance and we've been going out for ten months since. Not as long as the other couples on here but I couldn't be happier. TL;DR Make dumplings, acquire boyfriend.
