Metro Last Light: E3 2012 Enter the Metro [HD] by Brotisserie_Chickenin Games

My bad. I guess I missed that. The clothing, and everything else threw me off.

It should be obvious by his reaction. No man will run through the streets in that time period yelling to every about something he heard on the radio. From that I guessed that it had to be the nukes launching.

It has been a while since a game trailer has A.) Made me really excited for a game, and B.) legitimately touched me in a deep way. Dead Island did a really great job with this trailer at getting me interested in the game by driving me to the edge of my comfort zone with my emotions. In a short three minutes and eight seconds I felt more connected with the three characters in the trailer then I do with a majority of games these days. This Metro Last Light trailer has done the same thing for me. Without uttering a single word I understand I actually feel invested in the game. The cinematography was sublime, and I really liked the short but deep story that was offered. The use of sound was also spectacular. I particular loved when the captain shot the bullet deafening everyone as he took away the lady's baby. It really captured the moment of mass panic that set in as we watched the nukes launch.

That was a truly great video. Thanks for sharing.

Will Playstation All-Stars force Super Smash Bros. to up the ante? by gamelord12in Games

Yeah, I used he classic controller too. Even still, I think Sony has the ability to use their current remote to really do well against the new SSB control format.

Head tracking HL2. Why did this never get implemented? by RandomMonstarin Games

[–]parallelpolygon 36 points37 points ago

Because it was a 3rd party tool. Valve did not develop this, so unless the developer who made this gets a job at valve, chances are it will never be implemented. More importantly, the PC already has a very sensitive, effective tool for looking around 3D environments. Adding this would add nothing at all to the current game. Plus not everyone would be able to use it as not everyone has a webcam.

It is cool, but not very practical.

[–]parallelpolygon 1 point2 points ago

I am not sure about everyone else, but I am quite excited for this game. I've always loved games such as SSBM and SSBB. It is pretty cool to see a new company wanting to join in on the multi franchise fight games. All in all I think this could turn out really really well. I Think the logical conclusion is for Sony to take Nintendo's current formula, and fix everything they do wrong. Sony really should really create a decent only play aspect, and they should also add maybe worldwide tourneys that are run through the Playstation network. More importantly Sony has the ability to use an actual gaming remote compared to what the Wii currently has. Having a real remote will lend well to actual competitive play and the creation of many moves. Not to mention the control will be better.

[–]parallelpolygon 0 points1 point ago

Yep, that was why I said nearly explosive. Na in H2O is a wonderfully cool thing to watch. I remember when I watched it as a kid being done by my teacher. Now that was cool.

[–]parallelpolygon 1 point2 points ago

Sodium in pure form is nearly explosive. Table salt (NaCl, what is made in the reaction above) is completely safe. In fact any alkaline metal is very very reactive in a very rapid, sometimes explosive manner.

Every single line Rihanna has in Battleship by tsaritsynin movies

[–]parallelpolygon 3 points4 points ago

Rather then being aimed at the American market, I believe it is aimed at the 13-18 year old teenagers that inhabit all first world countries. More importantly Battleship has made 89.5% of its profit in the international markets.

Jack and Jill made half of it's money in foreign countries.

Apparently bad movies can do well all over the world. Not just in America.

Do you have any stories about people being incredibly smooth when hooking up? by Slakterin AskReddit

[–]parallelpolygon -1 points0 points ago

My reference to your pitiful amount of upvotes was to prove to you that everyone considers your posts worthless, and childish. Once again you have dutifully proved my point by coming back and responding once again with an idiotic, rage filled post. Not to mention it seems impossible for you to be able to manage to type in a coherent, dignified matter. At this point, you are being really pathetic. You really need to get an education, and stop being a child on the internet. We already have enough morons like you who dignify their actions by spamming childlike hole-filled arguments. To tell the truth I'm not sure what to think of you. I am pretty sure you are just some 7 year old moron who has access to his daddy's computer, but that is almost too good. I am more sure you are just some 13 year old chauvinist pig who can only feel good about himself when he re-uses stupid fads, and posts things in all caps thinking that he is a god. Either way people still hate you.

I'm glad I am not the only one. Sonic adventure 2 was my childhood in every sense.

For me it was sliding through the pillars in the old city. With the sun setting to the side of you. That scene is by far the most beautiful in all of gaming. Everything from journey makes me love it.

[–]parallelpolygon 0 points1 point ago

Took a while for you to respond. Anyways, what you fail to see is my humor. That was why I got upvotes compared to your overused fad "fake and gay". Funnily enough, as I look through your comment history, it seems a majority of people dislike your childlike responses to what people post. I can draw that conclusion by looking at your meager 27 karma, and your massive amounts of downvotes.

More importantly, using the word gay as a adjective to describe a waste of time is pretty xenophobic. You should really think about what you post before you post it. Maybe then people will respect you. That, or you can grow past the age of 5.

Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC is Live! by WhiteZeroin Games

[–]parallelpolygon 2 points3 points ago

Making an editor is not possible for TF2 sadly. The design of TF2 is artsy, love-able, and pretty dynamic. For portal though, it is blocky, simple, and colorless. That is why valve could make this portal editor. Without the simplicity of the portal design scheme this would never be possible.

Any contacts with Valve for a tour for my 5 year old son who is getting Radiation Therapy this week? by Nighteyez07in gaming

[–]parallelpolygon 1 point2 points ago

What I meant was demanding a tour. On a good note valve tends to get back pretty fast if they are interested. They responded to me in a day. Good luck.

[–]parallelpolygon 2 points3 points ago

May I recommend that you just send valve an email. Valve offered me a tour of the facility, and some time to observe the level creation process when I asked if I could do a job shadow there. It was pretty amazing. If anything, show some evidence of what has happened to your daughter and send a message to valve through their contact email. Also send one to gaben, or to any other address you deem appropriate. One disclaimer though, people should never abuse valve by asking for tours. That is not ok. Valve is a great company, therefore the good people do not deserve people abusing their kindness. Now that that is out of the way, I urge you to contact them. They love to do good for their young fans. I'm sure they will make your 5-year old's year.

I wish you luck on your goal OP. I also wish your 5 year old luck.

Rated R Rage by brashetin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]parallelpolygon 6 points7 points ago

It is a good movie. It is thrilling to a point where you may be reflecting on it for days to weeks. That thrill though comes from some seriously intense scenes that range from rape, to murders, to chilling realizations, to running from a sniper in the woods. More so the movie is also very very re-watchable. You will miss quite a number of important parts through the movie if you don't watch it twice. It self-references a lot.

So yeah, don't shrug it off, but do be wary. It is not for the faint of heart.

Personally that scene made me really hate that douche even more. He had already really abused the girl, but that just took the cake. From then on you knew bad stuff was going to happen.

Suck it Ultramarines! by grimlock89in gaming

[–]parallelpolygon 1 point2 points ago

Sadly yes. Vespids are pretty hard to work into any good tau army. I tend to go by this mantra when building a tau army: "A good tau army is like an onion. It has lots of layers and makes people cry." Sadly my little vespids don't fit in too well into the role of meatshields. the kroot to it better.

What would you guys like to see in this subbreddit to get it more active? by Sonic_Dah_Hedgehogin SourceEngine

[–]parallelpolygon 0 points1 point ago

Sounds really great. If we can get the subreddits r/gaming, and r/games into it, it would likely boost the interest, viewers, and members of this subreddit. I really like the idea of open-sourcing it. Valve does a similar system where all the files are available to anyone at any time. To add something to the project, it has to be okay'd by the team before anything is done.

I think the first step of action would be for you, or some other important member of this sub-reddit would be to go to the mods of gaming/games and start setting up dates, and a plan to do all of this.

This sub-reddit could turn this all into something big. Making an official mod from the users for reddit that is. People would really be interested. Plus you could make the entire process open source. From choosing which genera, to whether or not it should be its own standalone mod or plugin, to getting voice actors, to the creation of models, to the designing of maps. Not to mention recording it might drum up interest for years to come.

All in all I think your idea is much better then mine. It could be really interesting. Documenting how to make dota2/csgo maps would also be great. As far as I have seen very few people have any ideas on how to make maps for those games so far.
