In lack of any good advice or helpful tips on how to help you out, I want to tip you about http://www.couchsurfing.org.. It gives you the chance to find hosts all over the world, sleep on their couch, let them show you around and avoid the touristy places.. just about for free, except travel expenses. This may sound as a bad commercialbreak or whatever, but being a huge fan of travelling myself, I just felt its the best advice I can give you. Good luck with everything.

I´d recommend you to go to Lofoten during summer, with friends/alone.. Rent a bike or something and take shuttles from island to island and do some camping :) Nature up north is pretty amazing, and I´ve heard diving opportunities should be great there. Only thing tho.. during summer, it doesn't get dark, at all, so might be difficult to catch some sleep.

In general, instead of hostels, I´d recommend trying out couchsurfing.org. Maybe you´d find some great hosts to show you around and stuff, in the town you choose to stay in, and also you´d save money on living somewhere for free. Welcome!

Yup, true true. Therefore its quite common here to have a ´vorspiel´/ preparty first, before going out.. and get quite tipsy/drunk.. then you dont have to buy lots of expensive beers/drinks in the bar.. later you go home to someones place, after the bar closes, and have a ´nachspiel´/ afterparty and get more wasted. Cheaper and uhm... fun! :)

hey dont worry. some people learn faster and easier by practice and not theory. working in the ambulance is a practical occupation, so while you learn.. just do the things you feel comfortable with and gain your confidence that way. be open with your partner and tell him/her that you feel insecure about certain things.. then they´ll trust you more, and also give you easy tasks. step by stepp you´ll start doing more and more, and voila.. you´re where you wish to be. but it will take some time, and lots of calls.. so dont stress yourself. its better to learn these things slow and really well, rather then fast and not so well :)
