I want to learn about legal agreements for tv shows. by DRmediain IWantToLearn

For which country?

Serious question, considering I'm watching it now instead of 20 years ago, is Twin Peaks still going to seem as good as it's said to be compared to the more modern shows it's apparently influenced? by whimsiesin twinpeaks

From an aesthetic point of view I think that Twin Peaks holds its own after all these years. Because the story is set in a small town were very little had changed in the last 40 years, the sets, the locations and fashions do not put a specific time stamp on the story. Therefor, it does not age badly unlike other dramas produced at that time.

The cinematography is beautiful. The warm copper tones, the rustic locations and the eerie sets with ominous black spots are unique even to this day. Twin Peaks was shot in a more cinematic style than shows at the time and I think even by modern standards it still has a feature film quality about it. Notably the first season and the Lynch directed episodes. In my opinion, you could take any single frame of those episodes and it would make a beautiful photograph.

The acting, I think was purposely heavy handed. It's in homage to David and Mark's love of 50s soap operas. The whole over the top drama being a real escape for viewers. Just look at Invitation To Love!

Music, again much like the acting I think was purposely laid on thick. I know it sounds super cliche but the music really is a character in Twin Peaks. They become as easily identifiable as the characters. When's Laura's Theme hits, you know something eerie is happening.

Excellent point.

Plus it's beautifully executed through the direction.

James leaving Twin Peaks.

Not because of the rushed plot or the acting, but because James left Twin Peaks and therefore it's universe. The atmosphere was vacant.

That scene, for me is Twin Peaks in a nutshell. Even more so when BOB shows up.

If you grow out your hair, wear out some denim and wait 30 years you MIGHT JUST look a little bit like BOB.

So what if Twin Peaks were remade? NOT a continuation but a complete remake. Which actors would you cast? by IrisTwainein twinpeaks

I disagree. Zooey is to much of a twee hipster to for the role of a young temptress.
