What'd be cool is if someone could program an algorithm to display every possible combination of pixels, semi-randomly in a non repeating order, changing once every half a second, for centuries, recording the results. How much computing power would it take to run that "monkeys typing for a million years would produce the works of shakespear" type experiment?

It'd be awesome to see how often something recognizable appears, what are the chances of a pattern arising out of static, and how many years before we see a picasso?
