Out of curiosity, in the modern world of Google and the internet, is lack of knowledge really an excuse anymore? All anyone needs to do is go online and do a little reading. Claiming to not know any better about how to feed your kids doesn't exonerate the parents, it just makes them lazy.

Assuming they possess the capacity to realize that if they don't know something they can always look it up.

It was cheaper. I had to pay in cash to keep this as off the record as possible. It is not something I will ever recommend anyone else do, and if you ever know someone going through this, tell them that being knocked out if they can is def the better choice.

I'm not gonna lie, I read the first part of your comment and was ready to walk away for fear it was another hate message. But I'm glad I read the whole thing. Thank you for supporting a woman's right to choose, and for being vocal about it.

I feel relieved that it's over. I feel apprehensive about my recovery. I feel furious about "John" (we can pretend that's his name) for what he said and did when I told him I was pregnant. I feel happy I have drugs for the pain. I feel that that I'm in pain. I'm glad I had the option. I feel confident I did the right thing for me. I feel so many things right now it's hard to pinpoint any one, but mostly...I feel Okay.

The nurses said that it can be. The post surgical bleeding can be anything from a little spotting, to off and on heavy flow, to constant heavy flow. they give us all a couple packs of BC pills to start the Sunday after the procedure, to try to get us back on track sooner. It could be 2-3 months before my body is "back to normal." I knew this going in but there was a 16 year-old there with her mother that didn't. She looked terrified in recovery when they told her all this.

I'm jealous you didn't feel this. The nurses said that it's different for everyone, that everyone's body reacts differently to the procedure. Thanks for your story.

There was a woman there in the waiting room, talking about how her insurance covers all her abortions so she just keeps having them. She said she doesn't bother with BC because she'll just get it taken care of later.

I don't agree with her choice, but it's hers to make. I don't know how she goes through it. In the few weeks I was pregnant I felt nauseated all the time, had constant heartburn, and my boobs were 2 cups too big and sore. I'd rather be on the pill forever than ever go through this again.

Someone said something in my original post about the people telling me I should die, about how it's amazing most people who claim to be pro-life tell women they should drop-dead for having this kind of procedure. It made me smile.

The nurses there were very fierce women. The woman in recovery even told us about her own abortion. She already had a kid at the time, and couldn't afford to carry another. She kept telling us "it's your body" and giving us graham crackers.

Most clinics do take insurance. I had to do this off the books (I'm still on my dad's insurance), so I paid in cash.

I said he is a miserable excuse for a human being because of the things he said to me and how he behaved. It is my opinion of his actions. For you to presume that my opinion of him is strictly because he does not want me in his life, and then to pass judgement on me, is a bit ignorant, don't you think?

I don't feel bad about my decision. I'm nervous about going and getting it done for health reasons. But I'm not feeling guilty or at all upset about making the choice to end the pregnancy.
