You're right, my comment was insulting to "real" progressive house in some ways, but there has been a lot of generic stuff like this out there labeled "Progressive House" lately..

Also, you're right on that, too. Deadmau5's tracks are usually so simple yet so intricate, making them really tricky to remix properly.

The maximal movement of the logo seems to take up maybe 5% of the screen size, meaning this video has been cut approximately 10% smaller. Even the amount the video has been made smaller is larger than 10%, it is certainly WAY LESS than ~66%.

Also, if there were a recording of an entire crowd of people, cropping an average of 5% off every side of the video wouldn't make it any less about the crowd.

I do not know what you based the assumption of this video being "extremely shaky" on, but the movement of the logo in the upper-left corner gives a very accurate representation of the camera panning/shaking in the original video.

Obviously, camera panning can be kept intact in such footages. You "smooth" out the movement path, rather than motion tracking the footage and making it so one point "sticks" on the screen.

Holy mother of god ( •_•)>⌐■-■.. This is an amazing find.. IIRC I have stumbled upon Tycho before but apparently I did not like it nearly as much back then as I do now. Unfortunately I cannot help you though, sorry!

Honestly, when you google "Music like Boards Of Canada" you will find aphex and autechre and whatnot.. But the mere similarity is the electronic influence; I don't think you'll ever find an artist really similar to BOC. They do their own thing, and it's awesome.

Why wouldn't they crop the video, then? Yeah, some detail might go to loss but when the video is shaky as hell you'll probably see even less.

edit: I actually don't know why the original editors of the video didn't do this. It is usually so much easier to watch.

It's a 720 x 455 image with so much JPEG artifacts it almost hurts.

Here's the best I could do finding a better one (1280 x 810, suitable as a wallpaper on laptops and smartphones, still a lot of artifacts but less than OP)
