Have any of you kept your child of an unexpected pregnancy? How did it all turn out? by Newly_pregnantin TwoXChromosomes

[–]mozaleia 2 points3 points ago

I got pregnant when I was 20, I had been with my man for about 1 1/2 years and we were very shocked. I was looking for a job and he had a job but we were only making MAYBE 800 a month before bills, my husband had health care but I did not so we got married right away, we had always planned on getting married we had even had a date(april 28, 2011) we got married november 14, 2012, we just ended up having a very small ceremony with friends and family so we could save money. We decided to keep him and have never regretted it, I am a stay at home mom/wife and the budget is tight( we make 1800 a month) but we are happy and comfortable. I do alot of shopping for clothes and toys at the thrift store and yard sales. If you can try to get on WIC it is a great program, we don't use it anymore but in the beginning it was a lifesaver. If you love each other and are will to BOTH make the sacrifice to love and support the child then you will be jut fine. our baby boy just turned 1 and we are getting ready for a pay raise and thinking about adding another child into our lives.

as far as I see its 30% total, I haven't gotten anything recently and I know from my last appt that I have not changed, no worse but no better.

no its fine, you caused me to look through ALL my paperwork, my original % was 20, you were right 20% for asthma, eczema(TDB) scoliosis(TBD). my current records are now 20% for asthma, 10% for eczema and scoliosis is still TBD.

Idk, I just take what they give me and don't ask questions because the VA annoys me.

I rechecked my paperwork, 15% for my asthma, 5% for dyshidrotic eczema.

not really, I really liked my job and all the people I worked with. for the first time in my life I had people who really cared about me and liked being around me and I felt important for once, I mattered. yes I still matter becasue I am a wife and mommy but at that time I was at my happiest. of course I am happy now so I hope you know what I mean. though I am not complaining about the lifetime disability pay, its only about 450 a month but thats 450 i don't have to go to work for.

thank you, I understand its touch and go. My husband says I don't need to work but I think after the kids get older I will be bored just sitting at home so I told I AM getting a job, one that can move with us. we will see, thats still years out from now my ideas might change.

very possible...very possible. I am one of the VERY FEW that get any disability for having asthma. actually when I went to the people where doing my out-processing paperwork said they had worked there for 15 years and never saw anyone get disability for something as small as asthma. they told me at most to expect a Severance check and a kick in the pants.

%15 not much but I have to go back into the VA and get my back looked at again, I have a %15 left bend on my lower lumbar that is still being decided if they want to cover it.

pretty much, its an ID card so I can get on any base if I ever need to. I prefer using it over my dependent card

its a little funny actually, I ended up having asthma that I NEVER had before the AF, I loved track in high school and ran a 10 min pt run(good for a girl :P) I had eczema but they just said that I had athetes foot on my legs and hands. I had a smallpox shot right before I was supposed to deploy and I developed sores around the site and ended up getting really sick, a few weeks later(1 week before I was set to leave) I ran a police 5k fun run with the base and passed out 1/4 way through and suffered a severe "asthmatic episode" I was out and medically retired within 6 months. I even have a permanent blue card, it makes for interesting conversation with the retirees who did 20+ years to earn their card.
