Exactly - A citizen's responsibility/ duty (in any country) is to pay their taxes. It's even more important when your country is going through fiscal woes.

Google Chrome is now the most popular browser in the world. by aridon_01in technology

I'm currently using IE10 on Windows 8 CP, used to a huge Chrome user - but the past few releases of Chrome have been crap.

I'm always skeptical of these web usage (it's not a market share measure) numbers. They always seem to be sketchy and inaccurate.

And so is Safari - on Macs. Yet, besides mobile, Safari has done horrible in terms of marketshare.

Nope - they've since rebranded it Hotmail. It was Windows Live Hotmail before (at one point, was Live Mail but rebranded it due to confusion with customers).

It's awful UX. It looks pretty, but using it seems like it would be crappy.

And Romney intends to kill the Affordable Care Act on his first day, taking health care away from millions of Americans, raising prescription drug prices for seniors, and even raising taxes on small businesses that are currently taking advantage of Obamacare's tax breaks. by wang-bangerin politics

Democrats currently hold a majority in the Senate (though I guess that's diminished a little due to lacking a 60 vote majority to counteract the filibuster).

And you're forgetting to point out that the War Department and the DOD are not equal. It wasn't a simple name change; agencies were merged to create the DOD.

How do you want education reformed? Please expand. What's your suggestion to end SuperPACs (I assume that's what you're referring to; there's a difference between that and PACs) and to avoid the 1st amendment issue? What part of copyright law do you want reformed? Space program start moving how? Please expand further.

Both sides don't do it: the Senate GOP's record use of the filibuster is extra-Constitutional, without precedent and destructive to our democracy. by wang-bangerin politics

The Democrats were pretty aggressive in filibustering during the Bush Adminstration.

Why the F*** don't we build a high speed rail system in the United States? by hxcbandbattlerin politics

Um, there is something called "voting".

If I were California, I would use that money to shore up the general state budget and to reduce the huge state deficit. I'm not sure if the money is mandated for high speed rail or if it can be allocated somewhere else.

To anyone in the African American community who's now hesitant to vote for Obama because of his stance on gay marriage, a reminder Mitt Romney's church banned blacks from priesthood until 1978. by TurdInThePunchBowlin politics

[–]mdweihl -2 points-1 points ago

Why does Mitt Romney matter in this case?

It's already a given that the people in this instance affected by Obama's gay marriage stance wouldn't vote for Romney instead.

They would likely not vote at all - reducing voter turnout for Obama's base.

Microsoft bans Firefox on ARM-based Windows: Raising the specter of last-generation browser battles, Mozilla launches a publicity campaign to seek a place for browsers besides IE on Windows devices using ARM chips by maxwellhillin technology

[–]mdweihl 0 points1 point ago

Um, no. It's not going to run desktop .NET apps.

And full win32 api will not be ported. And that's a good thing. Making apps work on ARM isn't a simple flip of the switch to port. It's an entirely different type of architecture - ARM is RISC vs CISC.

Microsoft Windows refers to a series of different operating systems. Two main types are Windows CE (where Windows Phone currently runs on and what embedded systems use) and Windows NT (Server, main Client OS).
