Thanks! It was a Nikon D300 with that 18-200mm lens zoomed out to 200mm at f/5.6 I think it was like a 2 second exposure (I had the lens covered at the beginning to minimize camera shake from the shutter going off)

Well, when I usually try to take pics of the moon, you get more detail of the "shadowed" portion (in the photo) because the bright portion isn't as bright (less contrast). I only have a D300 with an 18-200mm lens on a tripod, so the dynamic range isn't the best. If I had taken the photo earlier, I think I could have gotten more of the moon's surface details.

haha yeah, my asian friends said it looked like a lychee. Never heard of a quenepa- sounds interesting. I'll have to look for it when I go to Miami next month.

Thanks! Ah, I wanted to catch it earlier in the night so I could get more shadow detail of the moon. By that time, the bright portion was too bright for my D300 zoomed to 200mm out on a tripod.
