Thanks! She's 88, so not exactly a shock, and I'm bringing my best friend and her 6 month old little girl over to see her

Yes, I'm a dipshit because I'm excited to go home and see my niece and my dying grandmother. Go fuck yourself.

Girl, I was there about this time last year but it wound up being a pretty awesome year. I know what it's like when you can't catch a break. This is what I did that made me feel better:

1.) Smoke a bunch

2.) Eat a pint of ice cream while watching Breakfast at Tiffany's or Roman Holiday

3.) Clean the whole house so I'm not wallowing in filth

4.) Ride a bicycle a whole bunch, because let's be real, bicycle's are fucking awesome.

5.) Do a bunch of yoga

Also, my old roommate broke his Kindle. He wanted to send it back so they could recycle it and they unexpectedly sent him a new one for free.

New Orleans, whats it really like? by Dr_Jaybirdin travel

I have never been able to put this into words for people who don't live here and have never been here. So thanks!

And be sure to let /r/NewOrleans know when you are coming and maybe we can do a meet up at one of the local bars! Those are usually fun

I'm really not sure about any roads to the east. My family lives in Texas so most of my driving takes me to the west. That being said, from what I can tell there is more to see in the northern parts of Mississippi and Alabama because the geography is a little more diverse. Along the coast is just flat pine forests.

New Orleans local here, and to be honest with you, New Orleans is fucking awesome but not if you expect things to work or be clean. The city isn't like any other place in the U.S. Things don't happen on time (we call that living on "NOLA time") and our public works like trash pick up, roads, etc aren't real fantastic. The trade off is the great live music, lots of it for free, the ungodly number of great festivals, the laid back feeling of the the city, and really friendly people. The rich history and great food mean there is plenty to do other than drink; contrary to popular belief it's not all about getting drunk.

It is more likely to be cheaper to go in the summer because it is hot and it keeps the tourists away? At least that's what I have been told, although I have no evidence for this.

Thank you so much! And that answers the next question about whether a tank could be too big.

So having snakes shipped is ok? I wasn't sure about that when I was looking and was afraid if I bought and had one shipped I may be contributing to some kind of animal cruelty. Glad to know it is acceptable in the community.

EDIT: On kingsnake.com I just found baby hypos for sale What are the challenges in owning young snakes vs. more mature animals?

Man, I hear that from everyone who has had them but for some reason they just aren't my thing really. I don't know why, they look cool and I've heard nothing but good things about them but I just can't see myself with a corn snake.

What kind? And you have any advice for how to find breeders in my area? I live in New Orleans but my family is in Texas so it wouldn't be a problem to travel that direction for the right animal.
