TROPHY CASE

Is it possible to install windows 7 using two USB drives when BIOS doesn't support booting from FAT32 USB but FAT16 USB? by eat-your-corn-syrupin windows

[–]lunigma 0 points1 point ago

You need to install the Plop Boot manager. It supports booting from anything. This will bypass your BIOS boot limitations. Install it, boot computer with Windows 7 USB, let plop start up and choose USB. I use this all the time to install OSes from USB on old laptops that doesn't support USB Boot. Is the laptop hard drive completely blank?

You can change the User Agent in chrome by adding: google-chrome --user-agent

followed by a IE/Windows User Agent. Opera has this built in, right click page "Edit Site Preferencess..." > "Network" > "Browser Identification" > "Mask as Internet Explorer".

Windows you finally got it right! by rkara924in windows

Pure speculation here. If this "bootloader" supports touch screen interfaces, it probably has to load those graphic drivers first, which requires booting at least partially into Windows 8 to be able to give touch support.

May I ask what antivirus program you're using? You might be using malware that claims to be antivirus software.

Great plugin, thank you! Have you written any other plugins, or are you aware of any other useful ones? I find Kupfer isn't as popular as gnomedo for some reason, so it doesn't seem like as many people write plugins for it.

I use this script I found online: A=ps auwx | grep "flash" | grep "chrom" | awk '{print $2}'; ls -la /proc/$A/fd | grep Flash | awk '{print $8}' | xargs -I _ mplayer /proc/$A/fd/_ -dumpstream -dumpfile ~/_.flv

Works great, leaves the flash file in your home directory.

You can also use the Plop boot manager, easier and safer to use. It's normally used to boot USB devices on older computers that lack the capability.

I've noticed a lot of you have old CRTs, if you're in the LA area, we would gladly take them. I work at a non profit, we get donations of desktops but without monitors. We'd like to give them out to low income families.
