TROPHY CASE

This is what video game bosses are supposed to look like. by Rayneworksin gaming

[–]lolbacon 0 points1 point ago

I beat the chick boss in like 2 minutes by hitting her with the stun gun like 10 times. She'd be frozen in the time it took to reload before she got another stun to the face. Otherwise playing on "Give me Deus Ex" as a pacifist made the bosses a huge pain in the ass.

In Columbus for some Microsoft training. Looking for some live music. by hiker32in Columbus

If you're looking for something to do Saturday, my band is playing at Cafe Bourbon St (2216 Summit St) that night with a couple of my buddies' bands from Cleveland. Should be a really cool mix of punk, gypsy jazz, psychedelic rock and other weirdness.

Tonight there are a number of shows I know of. Woodlands in Grandview has some folky/rockabilly bands playing. @ the Carabar near downtown my buddy (and fellow redditor) is having a stoner metal show/getting married.

Tomorrow there's a whole bunch of weirdness going on. Someone gave me tickets to some event in the arena district, but there's also Psychedelic Horseshit @ Cafe Bourbon St & Unholy 2 @ Ace of Cups if you're into nihilistic, lo-fi noiserock.

Plus tons of other stuff I don't know about.

Nice. I've got a couple Ravel-Mussorgskys, a Mussorgsky piano solo, and the ELP. It's one of my favorite symphonies. Night on Bald Mountain is also awesome.

It's an ARP, but close enough.

I love that album, especially considering it's an ELP cover of a Ravel cover of a Mussorgsky piece.

Holy cow! The new Google doodle is a playable Moog synth! by talkwin Music

[–]lolbacon 9 points10 points ago

I might believe you're related to him, but I wouldn't say he invented the first synthesizer. The first commercially available modular subtractive synthesizer, maybe (the Buchla box was released around the same time, so even that's a toss up). But RCA had developed a number of programmable synths a decade prior, and things like the theremin and Ondes Martenot had been around much longer.

It's pronounced like rogue (hence the Moog Rogue).

As a UPS Store employee I'd say by the picture he's more than qualified.

I'm in Columbus, OH and deal with assholes all the time. It probably doesn't help that I live near one of the douchiest campuses in the country with the highest concentration of perpetually drunk, entitled, neanderthals. The funny part is, most of the city is way bike friendly, but near campus that goes out the window.

As a cyclist and pedestrian who has had all sorts of shit thrown at him by drivers, if you throw shit at me, expect me to throw shit back at your much more expensive vehicle. A $300 replacement windshield might make someone reconsider assaulting random pedestrians.

I was walking home from my buddy's house the other night and some drunk college bros drove by and chucked a can of beer at me. They got stopped at a light up ahead and I ran my fastest to throw a rock through their window, but alas they were gone. Decided to start carrying a rock with me from now on.

A couple years ago I had some other douchebags swerve and yell at me while I was on my bike. They got my half full bottle of Gatorade through their window, smack in the head of the driver.

That's what I loved about Morrowind. So many times I'd try to follow someone's directions and end up Azura knows where, but stumble upon some egg mine or smugglers den or Telvani wizard tower, forget what I was doing and explore for hours on end.

My primary recording machine is a laptop with a C2D and I've piled up 20+ recorded tracks each with EQ, compression, plugins, etc and the only time I've ever noticed any hiccups was using the video player plugin along with it. I guarantee the min specs on this thing roast what's under my hood.
