Do you know about the Deep Ellum Brewing Company? by Odiddleyin Dallas

A local home brew competition is very interesting, and exactly the type of thing I'd like to see happening once this garden is up and running.

Interesting idea, but I don't think we'll have the square footage to grow enough hops for their needs. We do have several restaurants/coffee shops in the area that will have plots to grow herbs, veggies, etc.

It really means "Newark".

The curved stairs/inset couch severely limit the functionality of the space, and that angled couch gave me no small amount of rage.

Pretty damn good beer. Once the Deep Ellum Urban Gardens are up and running, we plan to use their used hops as compost.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a situation where that guy had the time to say "hang on... I got this!"

This has actually been true for a long time already. One man could not have made it to the moon and back alone, it took a nation. One man could not have developed nuclear power, or even the atomic bomb. One man could not build a smartphone. It takes a large system of people to produce the volume and quality of entertainment to which we are accustomed, and even more to facilitate the ecosystem of information and communication we call the internet. Very few things that happen in modern life are the result of one individual.

My gf thinks it looks like a crappy modern church. I think that's pretty accurate.

This is because we have amazing restaurants, and little else to do.

It's actually fairly easy to eat well at TB than almost any other fast food place. You just have to limit yourself to 1 or 2 tacos instead of the standard 4-5, and forgo the gallon of sugar water.

I really miss getting home from work and plopping down on my couch and sitting in silence for a bit before even thinking about doing anything.

I recently gave up my French press for an aero press. I got a stainless steel filter so I don't need paper filters. Unless you finish it quickly, French presses tend to over-brew where an aero won't.

Actually, about 98% of the atoms in your body are replaced each year. Also, about 90% of the cells in/on your body are microbes lacking human DNA. Every bit of matter in your body has most likely been through countless supernova before collecting into this little ball of dirt and becoming you for a brief moment in time.

Also, the north pole of a magnet is called north because in a compass it points to the north pole of the earth. Since opposites attract, that means that the north pole of the earth is actually a south magnetic pole.

That's because our silly eyes are just sensitive to 3 regions on the electromagnetic spectrum. There are actually an infinite number of wavelengths and most light is made up of a complex mix of them.
