Moving from a 20 man IT dept supporting thousands of end users and a nationwide network to becoming a one-man IT dept support ~100 users across 4 locations all in close proximity to one another, what are the biggest differences going to be?

Curious to hear from anyone that has went from major corporate IT to a small company being the solo admin. (I will be handling everything from the exchange server to the website to the switches, router, and domain.)

How much different are these two environments?

EDIT: Also, what do you think about moving a company this small from a dedicated exchange server to something like Google Apps?

I want to make a dashboard, where do I start?

Hi, someone loaned me a big (1280x1024 LCD) monitor, and an old PIII computer so, while I have it with me, I want to try out making a live dashboard, I was thinking along the lines of a twitter feed of the local newspaper, the climate, "now playing" info; but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm proficient in Processing, Shoebot (Nodebox), HTML+CSS+JS, Java, Ruby, and Python; but any solution is welcome.

Can anyone recommend a good plugin/module that can search log files?

I need to let users search a directory full of .log files, but I don't want to write something myself if someone already has a working implementation. I would prefer it be a module for Drupal, but I could switch over to any other decent CMS that runs on Apache. Non CMS would be fine too, if there are no other options. Log file specific would be nice, or at least searching by timestamps.

Any ideas?
