I'll fly to San Antonio (on my own dime of course) if it'll help get folks to show up at a rally.

I'm ready for round 2! Hopefully I'll get the chance. Thanks for the feedback. I was frankly shocked with how forcefully he hammered falsehoods - alas the technical answers fell flat in this medium.

Lesson learned. Good advice from Joel here.

Thank you. I'll definitely include this. We've been trying to get in touch with Gabe for some other things lately and it's proven tough. There's a great lesson here from the gaming industry.

I will be reading a prepared testimony and then answering questions. I reckon there'll be a bit of promotion on reddit that day.

Annnnnd now I'm back on an Amtrak back home to NY. Still haven't watched the video.... but soon! This feedback is awesomesauce, especially over at hackernews.

Yes. In fact, a few of us have talked about just doing it for Washington DC (and maybe LA) IPs. Even if it just happened for an hour with screenshots, it'd be big news.

Alas, I've reached out to the folks I know at those companies with little to show for it.

I haven't actually seen the video yet... so my question was 100% serious -- I'm on an Amtrak and the connection here, even tethered, isn't too hot. I'm full of weird smiles.

I'll do my best to do my part to keep this magical place going. It's not going to come down to a few TV interviews, though, it's going to take all of us redditors to mobilize both ourselves and our friends & family to educate our elected officials about the perils of these bills.

Wow. Hmm, that's a very big question. I'd rather answer it publicly too so it can help many more folks.

What I tell everyone who asks about that sort of thing is that [news.ycombinator.com] and google are the 2 best resources. Plenty of much smarter folks have written so much over the years that you can digest for free.

The most important, basic thing to do is build something people want. Start by solving a problem as elegantly and simply as possible, get it online and tell a few folks to see what happens.
