We have a bi automated bot. Interesting. I'm not sure if this is good or bad...but I don't disagree with the message at all :)

My feeling on this is that we don't see the more positive posts because there isn't a real sense of community here.

How so? we are small, but growing.

A good number of posts gets a pile of comments. I can only compare to /r/lgbt where often front page subs get <10 upvotes and few comments at all. I think for our size we do well, and there has and continues to be some great comments/ threads here.

Could it be better: hell yes, and I'd encourage you to help up make it better.

I wouldn't say that this subreddit is negative so much as it is simply not social most of the time.

Social as in lots of chat/ participation?

I think we do well for our size. Sure, not every submission has a lot, but context.

Even the reposts/duplicate posts aren't necessarily a bad thing

Again, I'm tired of being accused of this without proof (note that I'm the most frequent poster of external content here.) There is one similar story I've posted in the last week that was also on /r/lgbt. I go out of my way to find new bi relevant stories for this subreddit. Start providing lots of examples before pointing the finger.

If anything, bi relevant stories rarely hit /r/lgbt and if they do, they don't get a lot of attention.

As for other LGBT subs: I don't know, I don't follow. I'm not a fan of /r/ainbow because I don't accept their anti bi and trans policies in terms of people commenting.

If people want a more upbeat note to the subreddit, working on building that community through personal interaction, both on positive and negative topics, can really help.

On this we agree 110%. We all have different opinions, but together we can create something better again. I don't claim this subreddit is perfect, but I was here when we had 2000 subscribers and 2 posts a day would be serious traffic.

It got marked in the mod submission queue (and taken off the front page), and that killed it in a big way (before I saw it...apologies that I'm not here 24/7.) I'm the mod who put it back into general circulation, and I had zero issues with it, and thought it was an interesting submission; a little different for sure, but worthy none the less.

I'd encourage you to post more like that: you know discussion of topics like that will help diversify /r/bisexual; they won't necessarily be everyones thing, but it's good that we should have submissions like that.

Also: Apol that you didn't get a lot of upvotes: I upvoted it...as well as approved it ;)

yes it is. We all have our own stories, some negative, some positive, but every day I participate here, I'd hope that someone can, or where applicable I can (at 36 I'm old on this subreddit, and I know I can't help 16-21 yr old ppl in the most) help those who have gone through what we have gone through.

Even if we help one new subscriber to /r/bisexual each, we have done a positive thing.

As do I. I think we have a good mix, and we most definitely have a decent community when it comes to helping one and other.
