Quick question: Got off my 5/3/1 weekly rhythm, want to get back to MWTF, detrimental squatting/benching the same day (3rd week of cycle)? by jkruisb2in weightroom

[–]jkruisb2[S] 0 points1 point ago

Schedule I have is Squat Monday, Bench Wednesday, Dead Thursday, Press Friday, 2 days off/cycling over the weekend.

Second cycle. I figured. That also means the 'calculated' 1RM will start to decrease, approaching your third cycle, third set weight correct?

Thanks for responding!

Worked with Joe at Starbucks in Naperville several times. Really laid back, fun guy. It's too bad.

I was blown away when he introduced himself, I was probably ten years younger and had been listening to LBC for years... my first celebrity encounter.

No worries, I did read the e-book. I'm just referring to Wendler's arbitrary equation for your 1RM, I don't actually preform a 1 RM.

The question was should that number progress in a linear fashion, i.e. higher each week, or does it just need to be higher than the same week in a previous cycle.

I know it's confusing, but your answer did help.

When working a 5-3-1 program, should your 1RM go down between week 3 during the previous cycle and week 1 in the next cycle?

In other words, should every week 1 1RM be higher, but not necessarily higher than the previous week 3 1RM?

Directed by Tim Burton: Johnny Depp is eccentric and creepy with pale makeup. Anyone else think this paradigm has just become a parody of itself at this point? by snorchin movies

I think it's ok to be cynical that this particular stage of his career has arguably dragged on too long, but it is just a stage. Like any artist, his career goes through a periodization.

When his career is over, his body of work will be viewed as a whole and film grad students will refer to this period as "middle to late Burtonesque 'Depp-pallidism'"

How To Increase Squat Depth by Draethin Fitness

[–]jkruisb2 0 points1 point ago

Squats seems to be an enigma to me as well. I've found that if I'm wide awake (often you're tired at the gym) and engaged in the lifts (focused), I attacked the squat more, meaning I drop down aggressively into the lowest point. That way you get the bounce which helps bring all that weight up.

If you're only 85 percent into the exercise, you won't aggressively get into the drop and won't get the bounce. This should be Gospel to Redditors as the the 'bounce' is in Rippetoe's SS book.

Haha, I really, really didn't know where to put this. No more Reddit.com. I was just feeling magnanimous. The irony is not lost on me. I'll try somewhere else.

I road this trail yesterday! How far north do you have to go up before it looks like this? I went as far as Main Street in Evanston

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful response. I've downloaded the Wendler 5/3/1 schedule. It certainly looks spaced out enough to fit in other things. It's also a lot better organized than my little notebook...

It's difficult to start, but the leaps you make early on are truly remarkable. The human body is an amazing thing; by 2-3 weeks he'll already be feeling great about the progress he's made.
