TIL, more people died in the Boston Molasses Disaster than died in the Boston Massacre by wellthoughtoutin todayilearned

[–]jimbojamesiv -3 points-2 points ago

Yeah, and the US of A lost more soldiers in Iraq than the number of people who died on 9/11, what's your point?

Don't you know that every war since the dawn of time was trumped up by warlords for commercial interests?

Wow, I thought for sure there was going to be the obligatory reference to breasts, but as for the song, I thought they kicked ass.

My favorite part was about around the 17 second mark.

how to hug a baby by EL337in aww

[–]jimbojamesiv -33 points-32 points ago

Quite honestly I've never heard of children running up to dogs and getting bitten unless they provoked the animal with more than your pop psychology.

In other words, no, dogs don't bite children because they are trying to hug them but dogs do bite children that don't know how to play with dogs because their parents suck so bad.

Granted, in everything there is room for error so, okay, in the history of the world some child has probably been bitten by a dog when going in for a hug, and, yet again, this is more likely than not due to the dog being maltreated by, once more, us humans.

Ararphile, "Hitler wasn't half as bad as Stalin."

One can only wonder about your methodology or your level of understanding to make such an absurd statement, not to mention the rest of your post, "The Third Reich was probably the most impressive thing that has ever been done by the man kind..."

Seriously, you received an awful education and I wonder how much you paid or how proud they must be of their student.

Did you notice that the last sentence of the Wiki link suggests that 'myths and legends abound" as to how and when these forests originated, and all I can say is don't we know how to date trees?

I was never attacking your grammar. I was suggesting that you think this country "Gave" you money, which is appalling, and I have nothing in common with Rush Limbaugh.

A common tactic of the Fascist is to criticize high teacher's salaries (i.e. a superintendent makes around $250,000 per year) but never criticize millionaires (aka Wall Street).

And, yes, I do want the US of A to fail because the US of A is the Evil Empire and the biggest terrorist on Earth. In case you really don't know then I mean its military, banks, stock market and multinationals. Yer gosh dang correct I want the US of A to fail so that finally the Earth can be free or at least take a shot at it. Of course, England, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, China, India, the Sauds, and all the plutocrats, oligarchs and military dictators as well as their enables have got to go too.

I'm loyal not to country, party or person but to principle and my principles are my politics to which I am loyal. (Fair enough, I'm a pretty lonely guy.)

Nevertheless, I loathe people who contend I owe loyalty to any country. Only Imperialists, troglodytes or nationalists believe in loyalty to country.

By the way, nice job conflating loyalty to being truthful or not.

MSNBC is corporate owned by......wait for it.....Comcast.

MSNBC is not left or liberal but more of the same plutocracy, oligarchy, military dictatorship or corporatocracy. Call it whatever you will, but there is no liberal media and not a single liberal newspaper, radio or TV show, channel or publication in America. Not NPR, PBS or any mainstream media.

Oh, I forgot there is Democracy Now, but I'm not sure if that counts and sometimes I even wonder about Amy Goodman.

I'd enjoy hearing more of your insanity.

"[T]he country that Gave you the ability to give you $2,000...."

Huh?

Not to mention why is 2,000 in capitals, is that a lot of money? Somehow I bet you object to high cost of teacher's salaries.

If Obama were a Progressive, his base wouldn't have abandoned him.

Obama is not a Liberal, Progressive or Democrat. He's a moderate, centrist, corporate puppet.

Why do you give kudos to Anderson Cooper when he shouldn't have had on this alleged expert in the first place?

What was Anderson's point? That these people are stupid?

Well played, Mr. Cooper, but truth be told Anderson Cooper is another point of light of the 1%. He's always sucked as a 'journalist' and only got his job because either he's Gloria Vanderbilt's son or he stood outside in a hurricane.

Anderson Cooper is not legitimate. He's sort of like if Chelsea Clinton got a job in the news. Oh wait, that happened too.

TIL in WWII, J.F.K. saved a man - after their boat was sunk - by swimming three miles to a nearby island, all while towing the man by his life-preserver's strap...with his teeth. by riedmaein todayilearned

[–]jimbojamesiv 0 points1 point ago

Thanks for not slagging me and I respect what you say, although it's not dispositive because everyone on the boat told the same story that it must be so.

I'm not like relying on NCIS, but I do believe there was an incident of where Gibbs becomes suspicious when everyone's story in the unit matched a little too perfectly. I'm honestly not trying to get into whether the story is true or not, as I believe I said. I'm simply reminding people that most of what they're told is flat out lies.

Case in point. I've argued for years that every official document is b.s. Why is every official document b.s.? Because they've been massaged to death before becoming that official document. In other words, every official account is not the truth and far more typically they're not even close to accurate.

I care that Bruce Willis is an a-hole or that John Wayne was a seriously sick fuckwad, but what really gets my goat is how you arrived at the ridiculous conclusion that an actor's opinion is less worthy than your own opinion on a political matter, although I'm guessing your far more sophisticated and highly wrought brain has an answer?

[–]jimbojamesiv -1 points0 points ago

I'm not saying the story isn't true, although I don't believe it. I don't believe the part about swimming three miles and I especially don't believe the part about the teeth.

Call me cynical, but I've been on this Earth for 40+ years, and the stories that people tell, let alone get away with telling or that are believed, are beyond my belief.

I don't or haven't in years.

I can admit that I enjoyed Fox and Friends in the morning, since there's no better way to wake up than mix it up with a bunch of invective.

Seriously, your problem is that you confuse my liberalism with neo-conservatism. Granted, neo-conservatives started out as liberals but then realized that there's no use, since man can't be helped. They will always take the $1 to stab another in the back and they got on board the gravy train, but what my comment to the thread referred to is that they're all hate-filled, violent morons. The people to blame are the officials and parents since kids (and adults) are throwing rocks at people with guns. If they were serious, they'd be pointing guns. It's all a big joke being played out on people like you who think I'm the problem.
