TROPHY CASE

What bands are you excited to see? I want to see some new stuff. by ThatFuzzin Sasquatch

Some lesser known ones that I'm super excited for:

Thought this was genius... If only I could afford it ($8,920) by dragonworthyin pics

[–]jeweloree 0 points1 point ago

It's meant to be outdoor furniture... it looks kind of silly inside. But I saw this exact set on Hautelook for around $250. I was about to buy it, but it sold out in about 20 minutes.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. by thecookiemonster33in Music

[–]jeweloree 3 points4 points ago

I saw them at the McDowell Mountain Music festival in Phoenix last year. I was actually a little disappointed because they were and hour and half late on stage and for some reason Jade was being a weird diva and wouldn't come out. Other than that is was a fairly enjoyable show though.

I think they just weren't in the All Stars season because that was a spin-off. All of them are still going to be in Season 10.

This year is my 7th Sasquatch driving there from British Columbia. Ask me anything! by givetakein Sasquatch

If you are in regular camping, I'd suggest purchasing a solar shower. I've used these at the Gorge last year. You fill it up with water and leave it out in the sun and voila! A nice warm shower!

We Are Young - Pentatonix (Fun Cover) [Amazing A Capella] by SeverePsychosisin listentothis

That's kind of their thing. They did it on nearly every episode of The Sing Off. Actually, this dubstep breakdown was much less obnoxious than they normally do.

Why is it cool for even Glee fans to hate on Glee? by mistielovesyouin glee

[–]jeweloree 1 point2 points ago

She never agreed to "give up her dreams." She didn't agree to stay in Ohio for nothing... she said "if your dreams are bigger than mine..." (which I would guess that Rachel would know they aren't, so she isn't really gambling much by making this compromise) It's not like agreed to stay home and raise kids and become a housewife or something.

I think empathy and caring about other people is a good thing, but that's just how I feel.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and point out that Rachel being able to put her dreams on hold for someone else is a tremendous self-sacrifice and shows huge growth for her as a person. Season one Rachel was highly motivated and focused, but she also didn't have any friends or anyone in her life and was basically a sociopath who would destroy anyone that got in her way. But now, she has so many people in her life that she cares about and that care about her. I wouldn't call that destroying a character; I'd call it developing one. She's grown into a much more empathetic individual, which makes sense because she's ending her selfish "its-all-about-me" teen stage and learning how to work and live with other people.

That being said, I won't deny that she was more entertaining as a sociopath. But I don't think it's bad writing to make a character more mature in their senior year of high school than they were in their earlier years.

Pretty sure M83 is on Thursday and sadly, I am not going. I'm going to Neon Indian on Friday, though!

Hotpads. It lays everything out in an easy to use map interface. It also has a good mix of private versus dealer listings. It also allows a lot of customization of your search.

I think they can be really cute. I would wear them over a maxi dress, or with colored skinnies and a cami underneath. Here's some examples of people working it:

Over a white blouse

Over a bandeau with some weird tights or something.

Over a maxi dress, however I'd go for something that contrasted a bit better.

A Taxing Life (xpost from /r/india) by Benferhatin Libertarian

[–]jeweloree 8 points9 points ago

As an ancap, I don't really think taxes are necessary or moral at all, but if we HAVE to have them, I think it makes more sense to tax consumption (i.e. sales taxes) rather than production. It doesn't make sense to punish people for being productive. The thing I like about sales taxes is that they are much more visible than income taxes. You'll be constantly reminded how much the government is taking from you. This might change some attitudes about taxes. Also, it would be much easier to abstain from taxes this way; you can purchase everything on the "black market" and avoid taxes completely.

Males at least have the idea of the "strong and silent type." That's vaguely positive.

I don't know about when he was governor, but starting in around 2009, I started seeing him at political events in Arizona all the time, and he was always super awkward. The way he talks sometimes, it's like he's reading a bullet list. There's no transitions between thoughts and he's bad at making a narrative. He also gave me a really unsure and awkward handshake once. Don't get me wrong, though, I love the guy. I'm actually really glad he's become such a better public speaker.

It's definitely true, but I think over the past year he's gotten much less awkward.
