I'd like to see your expected budget breakdown.

I assume that would be stage 1 of your plan.

The fluidity of the definition of feminism is a troubling aspect for me. When each individual has their own definition, it is difficult to know whether 'feminism' is indeed the correct name, and sometimes what the hell they are talking about.

My point above was just that when you have something as powerful and large as feminism, and yet so vaguely defined, the good points get lumped in with the bad. /mensrights tends to cherry-pick the bad, and then smear everyone who identifies as a feminist with their subsequent judgement.

I'm aware that for the most part they are missing the point, and many seem to make cases based on very specific events rather than any substantive study of underlying reasons, but at the same time a) the term feminism understandably leads them to believe that they are excluded, and b) doesn't seem to present its case consistently.

EDIT: Sorry, realised I didn't answer your question (again). The only solution I can think of is one which either thoroughly elucidates what feminism is, or for the movement to be ready to fragment it into more 'defensible' segments (which is probably not a great idea in the long run). The former notion requires some clearer denunciation of fringe elements, which might already happen, but I don't see much of it.

I've often thought the labelling was contentious, and while I'm not going to bang on about changing it, I will say that (as Hayley points out in another reply) "There are different strains of feminism, with different definitions. And most feminists have their own definition".

This is notable as not all of those definitions seem to be good/productive, and I think those are the ones that make easy fodder for /mensrights to latch onto.

If storing movies and music is on the cards, then you may want to invest in a large secondary hard-drive. For this type of storage you can just go for a slow-but-large-capacity drive.

I get what you are saying, in that trauma is directly linked to how vulnerable you feel, and I believe it is a valid point.

But I also think you are seriously downplaying how physically vicious women (and other men) can be. We guys do not walk around feeling like we're are completely invulnerable, and indeed, some of us are very much at the other end of the spectrum.

Threatening letter from AT&T about tethering? by project_valientin Android

[–]jay76 0 points1 point ago

Over here you basically get your set amount of monthly data as part of the plan (anywhere from 500MB to 10GB) and you are free to use it with whatever device you want. ie: either browsing on the handset, or tethering.

I don't even see where they can justify the $30/month tether charge? It doesn't cost them anything extra, unless they are going on the belief that you will download more through a laptop (which may be true). But even that is still double charging you for data you already bought.

Threatening letter from AT&T about tethering? by project_valientin Android

[–]jay76 1 point2 points ago

I agree. This notion of the data that you use on your phone and the data you use while tethered being somehow different is just so strange to me (in AU).
