I'm with you so here's an upvote. It's bad form to reply saying you don't get something, when you don't even feel like checking what the post or picture is about.

Pat Riley Interviews Michael Jordan Before Bulls' First Title by foodfanaticin nba

[–]imadogg 1 point2 points ago

About this... damn MJ said if he didn't win a title, his career would still be complete, he wouldn't regret anything. Imagine if someone asked Lebron if he would still appreciate his career without a title and he said yes in any way? People would say "Well Jordan would say it's all about the title and Lebron 'King without a Ring' sucks", when actually MJ said he'd still be alright without a ring.

Why are Flagrant 1's not reviewable? by megamanxzero35in nba

[–]imadogg 7 points8 points ago

But overall NBA games average what, like .2 flagrant fouls a game? I'm with the OP, all flagrant fouls should be reviewable.. it doesn't make any sense that they're not. They don't happen too often, but when they do, you should be able to look at the unnecessary/excessive contact and determine if it was a flop or if it was so bad you need to kick someone out.

You should update your post with the players already chosen. Seems like a fun idea.

I'll throw in Isiah Thomas since I didn't see him listed

What do Kobe, Lebron, and Durant need to do in their careers to be considered on the same level as Jordan? by smurfslutin nba

[–]imadogg 0 points1 point ago

Kobe can't realistically reach Jordan's level no matter what people say (no, 2 more rings won't do it, unless he has Wilt-type regular seasons and MJx2 postseasons on his way to the rings).

It's not just about surpassing each of his numbers, the 6 rings or 10 scoring titles or whatever. It would be tough, and seems damn near impossible, but someone might come along one day who gets 5 rings, 13 scoring titles, 4 MVPS, etc etc and is thought of as GOAT by most due to his entire body of work (instead of people saying "he has one less ring).

Jordan played both sides of the ball.. he had scoring titles and had MVPs along with being on the All-Defense team and even winning Defensive Player of the Year. He stepped up his game in the playoffs, then in the Finals, then in the closing minutes of the game.

Jordan was charismatic, he was either loved or hated/feared by everyone. He was watched by all. He had commercials, he had shoes, he had the name people remembered.

He was a high pick and was known in college, where he won. He was an all-star in that he didn't just make the game for being great, but he was a joy to watch, from his early career dunks to his late career methodical "I'm about to kill you, watch me" play style.

He elevated his teammates, he made them household names. He was mentally tough, he could shit talk an opponent on the court then score 50 on him, he could scold a teammate in practice then pass the ball to him in a crucial moment, and then he could go out and look good for the people in a suit.

Lebron and Wade have their entire future ahead of them... I personally think it is impossible for them to reach Jordan's level of greatness overall; they each just have something missing. I disagree with people who think they need to be dicks like MJ to do it, that part of the personality doesn't come into play, they are naturally nicer guys than MJ (and Kobe). But Lebron lacks a certain mental toughness overall (very sensitive guy), and lacks something in certain moments. Durant needs to be ruthless on defense, isn't as memorable to casual fans.

Maybe it won't be them but maybe one day we'll have someone who will be considered the Greatest Of All Time by the majority of fans. Or maybe not.

What do Kobe, Lebron, and Durant need to do in their careers to be considered on the same level as Jordan? by smurfslutin nba

[–]imadogg 13 points14 points ago

To be fair to OP, he asked the question in a proper manner: How can they be on the same level as Jordan. OP didn't ask what Kobe/Lebron/Durant need to do to be the next Jordan and he didn't say anything that said each guy has to be like MJ and can't be his own man.

Do people still think it's that simple when Shaq left on bad terms from Orlando, LA, Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Boston? That it's just Kobe's fault because he didn't wanna be the sidekick?

Stu Lantz says "Oh he's dancin, Kobe's dancin" whenever he does that... I loved it years ago because somehow it was super sexy yet always resulted in a score, but the last couple years he just messes up the dribble and has to shoot a crap shot, or gets it stolen :(
