someone intentionally broke off a friendship with me because i was having a hard time dealing with some post-traumatic events of an incident. for a period of time i was mentally, emotionally, and physically drained.

the person i approached for company and guidance i had never asked anything of him before, the only person i trusted at the time. while telling him what had happened, he cussed and told me to shut the fuck up. purposely kicked me while i was down. so i shut up and left. at the time i hadnt really given expectations of friendships much thought, but this has left me highly reluctant to speak openly to "friends"

ive seen many people get broken by failed friendships. not everyone recovers from it as it is grueling to process. what i took from this was to be an available friend with ears. i know it seems so simple and minuscule but it is the lesser acknowledged aspect to strengthening and elongating meaningful relations with people.

how it turned out for my "friend".. well, that bridge has been burned. he seems to be doing the same thing-mindless life meandering, from what i seen.

edit: id like to add something. i get that people do get annoyed by being depended on too much--thats fair, i get annoyed as well. however, i had never one asked anything of him before.
