What are your favorite things to do with friends that are cheap, easy and instantly fun? by Noedelin AskReddit

[–]heartshapedsprinkles 1 point2 points ago

Hide and seek! In the dark. In a forested area. And the only person with a flashlight is whoever is "it." It's especially fun if everyone wears dark clothes to help blend in. It's a bit scary, but definitely gets the blood pumping! My hint: If the trees are the type that are easy to climb, climb them! And try and get kind of high, at least to the point where someone right below you can't see you. It makes it quite hard for the seeker to find you.

I don't think I'm qualified to have an opinion on this. by BabySteviein funny

Not necessarily. I'm 21 as well, and I didn't realize it was a thing. My boyfriend had to explain it to me.

Men of reddit, honestly, what would your reaction be if a girl asked you on a date? by baripsterin AskReddit

I asked my boyfriend out. :) And two and a half years later, we're both glad that I did.

If you do this as a "protest," fuck you. by midnight10in pics

My friend was working there when this happened. She was absolutely terrified. It makes me angry that they didn't stop to think of the people that work there when they decided to vandalize the place.

First time donating blood and this is what I get in return by dontmindmejustlookinin WTF

[–]heartshapedsprinkles 0 points1 point ago

I used to donate blood quite often. My blood type is O negative, so I felt like it would be a nice thing to do. Universal donor, yay! But I have had so many negative experiences with blood donation centers (including a nasty bruise just like that one!) that I have avoided donating blood for two years now. I feel bad about it, but I don't like going through hell every other donation because the technicians aren't trained properly.

As a tall male w/ a short male friend I just had my world shattered into what short guys have to put up with! Why is society so cruel? by MrTrampStampin AskReddit

[–]heartshapedsprinkles 1 point2 points ago

I think it goes both ways sometimes as well. My bf is 5'4" and I'm 5'8", pushing 6' in heels. In the very beginning of our relationship I was terrified that he wouldn't want to date me because I was taller than him. I always assumed, and had been told, that guys didn't go for taller girls. That they wanted someone small and dainty that they could pick up, or rest their chin on while standing. It made me never want to go after guys that were shorter than me because I felt that they would only have their eyes on a shorter woman. And honestly, I have been rejected before because I was too tall. And it hurt. Made me never want to wear heels again.

For me personally though, height doesn't matter. And if you start to date a lady taller than you, chances are she's probably worried about her own height as well, especially if she really likes you. My boyfriend rid me completely of my insecurities when he told me it "felt like he was dating a tall, hot supermodel." And the heels came back after that. ;)

Thank you very much! :) I wasn't quite sure where to start. I'm still pretty new to all of this, and I don't pretend to know everything. Especially since I've never had to talk to anyone about it.

I understand where you're coming from, and I sure didn't intend to start on about evolution with him. The whole thing began with a fb post I made on something I liked on r/atheism and he jumped on it. I had only intended to tell him what atheism was and to let him know that if he had any questions, I would do my best to answer them. It went from there. It's not really a "debate" if you will. More of a "Here's how evolution works! Yay!"

Just because I don't know everything about it doesn't mean I don't want to help him learn. And teaching someone is a good way to learn yourself, right?

edit: Accidentally a word. :)

Hey Reddit, melt my heart. Tell me the story of the best kiss you've ever had. by jcn9122in AskReddit

[–]heartshapedsprinkles 17 points18 points ago*

My boyfriend and I had been dating for over a year, long-distance. I had known him for years through a forum prior to our relationship, but we had never met irl. We video chatted all the time since we started dating, and had never gone a single day without talking to one another.

Well, the time came when silly kissy faces on Skype were no longer enough. Together, we planned a trip for him to come visit me for 19 days, since he was on summer break and I was still in class.

Thee months out, and it felt like an eternity. I was obsessively counting down the days to when I'd pick him up from the airport and be able to see him for the first time. Every time I thought about kissing him, my heart would beat like a jackhammer in my chest and I'd wonder if I'd have the guts to just straight-up kiss him right when I first saw him.

The day finally came, and I had to go to class as usual. His plane was scheduled to arrive right after my class, and it was driving me crazy. My palms were sweating, I was overheated, my eyes kept darting to the clock on my phone, and I had my shit packed up 15 minutes before class was even out. The second the teacher dismissed us, I was hauling ass to my car.

Fast forward to me waiting outside the arrival area at the airport, and I could not get my heart rate down. I had told him to call me after he had gotten his bags and was heading outside. I was gripping my cell phone like it might jump from my hands, waiting for his call. When my phone started vibrating, I picked up instantaneously. On the other end I could hear the same traffic that I was hearing live, and his voice. He asked me where I was waiting, and after a bit of confusion, he told me he could see the doors to where I was waiting. I was a bit of a ways from the door, but I was watching it intently.

And then I saw him. My heart felt like it exploded from my chest. I hung up on the phone and waved to him as he turned to look in my direction, the biggest, stupidest grin adorning my face. He broke into a grin and we started walking towards each other. Slowly at first, but we started picking up the pace when he suddenly dropped his bags and everything he was holding and ran towards me, pulling me into arms and against his chest, completely destroying any shyness that I may have had. He didn't say a single word before he pressed his lips against mine and we shared what I will forever remember as one of the most passionate, loving kisses I have ever had. When we finally pulled apart, he pressed his forehead against mine, smiled shyly and whispered, "Hey there beautiful."

TL;DR Met my bf of over one year for the first time irl, and our first kiss was something straight out of a Hollywood movie.

EDIT: Spelling.

My mother is an English teacher, and as her somewhat literate daughter, I get the honor of helping grade papers when she gets tons of them. I personally like to put smiley faces on things that make me laugh, or comments that are particularly insightful. :)
