Looks like bile to me. A couple months ago I was stressed with moving, didn't eat for a few days then had this insane shit that just sort of fell out and looked like pesto (similar to that, but flakier maybe?)

What I find is when putting it back in, relax all your muscles there. I notice sometimes I get tense a bit, and it never fully opens, so I remove it then try again, almost pushing out, but not quite? But anyway, when it's in, rotate it, it should pop all the way open and be nice and round. On the toilet is tricky for this, but squatting in the shower makes it a lot easier.

Question for you: do you have a difficult time cleaning out the little holes at the top? I find the only way I can get em clean is pinching and scraping it out. Do you have a better idea?
