To all of the Sierra developers here: thank you. Your games really made my childhood happy. I bonded with my father over many of them. (LSL was, heh, not one of them. I played the game privately after finding the floppies in my dad's cabinet.)

To be clear, it's not that I don't want or need to learn Obj-C--I fully understand that. But if I want to make a good app, I need to understand how the app lifecycle works. What am I allowed to interact with? How do I handle memory management? malloc, e.t.c. ?

I have an Intel Mac and XCode; I'm not a novice. Nor am even close to the realm of "what are UI standards in apps." I just want to know how they run.

Man I cannot tell you how many conversations I've had with my girlfriend about this. Neither of us get "roped in" to anything, but I'm always baffled why people do, and she's very insightful as to all sorts of advertising trickery. I wonder if there's some part of the brain that controls this: the able to detect bullshit, the ability to be pulled into bullshit, and the blend of the two.

I've been interested in switching to Sonic, but held off because, truly, their website looks like it was designed in 1997. And I'm picky like that.
