Randomly found this online after 12 years - What are some other things of yours you have randomly found around the Internet? by neoedgein AskReddit

This prompted me to find an old blog I had when I was in middle school. It says I like "socca," cookies, lipgloss, aim, and pool parties. Come at me boyzzz ;)

Man sues ex-fiancée after she breaks off engagement. by EvilPunditin MensRights

[–]gabrielle1106 1 point2 points ago

Hmm I don't what to think. On the one hand, she has the right to break up with him at any point, regardless of how much money he spent on her. On the other hand, what kind of crappy, selfish person wouldn't agree to chip in for some of the expenses?!

I got sick of hearing the loud guy upstairs, so I put "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by Baja Men on loop for hours and just left. What things have you done when driven to the edge? by bhaaatin AskReddit

[–]gabrielle1106 0 points1 point ago

People can seriously be shitty. Our neighbor's two big dogs attacked my miniature poodle. The owner absolutely refused to acknowledge that his dogs would do that, even after the cop who filled out the report found pieces of my dog's fur in his yard. They never payed for anything, they never even showed up to court. They are scum. Some people just don't care.

I want to go backpacking in Europe next year. I would love to have some backpackers share their experiences and advice! I know you must have some crazy stories. by gabrielle1106in AskReddit

Just a general desire. Originally I was going to do study abroad in Paris through my school... But because it's only for summer, it's only 6 weeks. I'd rather go longer, like 10 weeks. It's also SO expensive. What about you?

You're beautiful by HappyTeaCupin TwoXChromosomes

[–]gabrielle1106 6 points7 points ago

Beauty shouldn't always be about looks, you're right. But usually when someone tells a stranger she is beautiful, he/she is probably referring to her outer, not inner, beauty. Either way, it's a nice compliment!

I'm glad you were able to receive such a sweet compliment at a time of such stress. However, not all women are beautiful, and there's nothing wrong with that! Being unattractive doesn't make a woman any less fun, intelligent, kind, etc. :)

I'm thinking in terms of this thread from last week.

x-post from r/bestof: male recounts harassment, gets told he cannot tell a woman what's what by heartroostersaucein MensRights

I think it only is a record of reported assaults. So any unreported assault from either sex is not included. But I'm not sure. You can probably assume that both numbers are higher.

I think it's a pretty well-known fact that women are more likely to be sexually assaulted, harassed, and/or raped, but just to back that up, here are some stats

I don't know. Yes, it's cute. But I had a uniform from preschool through high school. There are dumb dress codes, and they're annoying, but you follow them. It's not that big of a deal, I'm not sure why a news article was necessary :/

I usually ignore FB posts that offend me, 'cause freedom of speech and whatnot, but this one really got to me and I had to say something. by mkwise13in TwoXChromosomes

If anything, you should have been less apologetic. You have no reason to apologize for standing up for yourself and all women!

Reddit, I'm 32, a type 1 diabetic for 23 years, and am slowly losing my vision. What are the most important things I should see while I still can? by BigPharmaIsEvilin AskReddit

[–]gabrielle1106 1 point2 points ago

I intern at a diabetes office. I'm no specialist in the matter, so my only input is that I have yet to see any patients with serious diabetic retinopathy, even those who have horrible control (I'm talking A1Cs above 9 here, some up to 11 and 12) or who have had diabetes 20-40 years.

Pro-life ladies, are there any circumstances under which you would be willing to get an abortion? (Questions for pro-life and choice in text.) by Poe4Shoin TwoXChromosomes

[–]gabrielle1106 1 point2 points ago

That's exactly what drives me nuts about ultra-conservative politicians today. They say they want to protect life by outlawing abortion... yet they want to de-fund programs like planned parenthood, that are supposed to educate women on how to have safe sex and prevent pregnancy? That makes no sense! To me, being pro-life encompasses supporting programs that help women make the right choices to prevent pregnancy and STDs. These politicians may pretend to be pro-life, but in reality they are hypocrites who are trying to take power away from women.

First off, thank you for giving me respectful and intelligent remarks. I appreciate it and I hope I come off the same way.

Second off, I don't know. You're absolutely right- where do we draw the line? When does a mild and manageable physical or mental health issue become a serious, unmanageable, and potentially dangerous complication? And who gets to draw that line? Certainly not politicians, who have their heads stuck so far up their asses they can't think straight.

I have work now but I hope to get to your other points later!
