Oh fantastic! It is really a bizarre thing. On the friday morning they have goats and sheep - even sometimes strange sheep that most people have never seen before - Jacob sheep with 4 horns, hair sheep (no wool), it is friday night they have weird critters, you never know a wallaby lemur? Next day birds - chickens, peafowl, emu! Saturday - weird cattle, mini horses, mini donkeys (some have bad feet.. poor things) yaks, bison - llamas. If you like weird critters its really fascinated, but you may also get a headache!

Dang, sorry I have not been here for a couple days. My first job was a pet store - now out of business, it was called The Fish Bowl. I remember one day a litter of Pugs was brought in, 2 were deformed - they drowned the pups in the massive aquarium filter in the back of the store. I lasted there only a month.

I totally agree with this - most of us here already know the scoop about pet stores and such. You can post a self post in /r/pets but I suspect many there also know what goes on. Do an AMA!!! There is a subreddit for that.. just don't know where it is.. Oh - be REDDITOR OF THE DAY!!!

neither I would rather have the money used for something else - nice honeymoon, nice house, nice life. I am married, I do not have a ring. I did not have a big wedding. In fact it really was just me and him. The wedding is not what matters - it is the days after. There are so many more important things to spend money on for sure! Also many diamond fund wars so I am strictly against these... plus I never understood how so many people who claim vanity is sin, walk around showing off big rings

Terriers are dogs bred to hunt, they need to be kept active. It is the dog's need for mental stimulation and activity that are the key concerns. Do you have time before and after work to keep the dog exercised so she does not get bored and destroy the house or start barking? In general older dogs are better for apartments, they do not have the huge exercise needs of younger ones.

There have been recent daylight robberies, it is better to report something suspicious than wonder about it later.

DSH tabby - domestic short hair tabby. Report finding to your local shelter. Check for tattoos - if you find one in his ear he might be purebred but most cats are not.

They are very "reward" oriented, if you want your donkey to do something - bribe it with a carrot or apple. No oats - they are prone to founder. A fat donkey will have a fat neck, not a good sign. Donkeys are thrifty eaters and do not need oats. If your donkey starts getting lumps along the side of the crest of its neck - it is getting fat. As the others have said - feet care is important.

I remember a few years ago when a Pomeranian killed a 6 week old baby girl in LA. People who leave dogs and kids alone together should be charged with neglect. Granted nobody is going to suspect a Pomeranian would kill a kid, but you have to be living under a rock not to know that a larger dog could.

Remember Scruffy, the kitten who was killed when his owner could not afford vet bills - here is a petition you can sign to pass Scruffy's Law

Not for a while but there is a few really weird auctions that happen in Alberta. Innisfail Auction market has Odd and Unusual Auctions every Easter and Thanksgiving (3 days) - Day 1 sheep, goats, in the evening its hedgehogs antiques and lizards... etc. Day 2 chickens, peafowl, swans... etc... Day 3 mini horses, unique cattle (zebu), donkeys, bison.. llamas... etc... Seen a camel there one year, emus, wallabies.. you just never know. I am not associated with them but have bought some hair sheep from them in the past, its just the strangest way to spend an Easter or Thanksgiving weekend.

At age day one the peep are sexed, females go on one conveyor belt, get vaccinated, beaks cut, to go into brooders (to grow up) males go onto an other conveyor belt and are fed into a grinder. There are no humane slaughter laws for birds.

I stopped eating chicken years ago. The numbers are actually quite higher when you calculate the day old male birds that are fed into a grinder.
