Don't feel too bad. I was sitting on a taxiway and watched a military pilot in a 172 do the exact same thing. My instructor saw the first bounce and started saying, "Go around, go around, go around". The third bounce was straight onto the nose gear. I guess going from flying a military jet to a 172 can take some readjusting.

I flew from Honolulu to SFO on Hawaiian in March and tickets were under $300 round-trip. Now they're over twice that amount, though not anywhere near $1200. I also flew Virgin on the mainland and it looks like their prices have gone up maybe 30-40%.

Sounds like they're either stringing you along to make a few extra measly bucks in interest on the money, or they're in such serious financial straights that they have to bring in new money to pay off old debts. Either way it's probably illegal. I'd call them and tell them if they don't pay it off immediately I'd be contacting a lawyer. And then I'd contact a lawyer.

Serg's is great for Hawaii. I love that place. There's also one in Waimanalo. But OP is right, you won't find good Mexican food in the state.

Cholo's is a good place to catch a food-borne illness though, if that's your thing.

Some folks in Kailua believe that the construction of the sea walls in Lanikai shifted sand from Lanikai to Kailua, creating an even larger beach. I have no idea if they're correct or not.
