I saw some lighting from my window, too. There were a couple of good thunder sounds. Then nothing for an hour or so and a faint pop here and there.... and I remembered the Rose Parade festivities have begun 15 blocks away.

Snoop Dogg's son is very good friends ith Oregon's DeAnthony Thomas, one of the best players in college football and he plans to enroll at Oregon after he graduates high school. Snoop will probably be around Eugene a bunch but unfortunately, he's a big USC fan.

The PTFCtickets fiasco on Twitter last insane. It seemed the guy running it just got hammered with negative tweets left and right in a matter of minutes. He lashed back and criticised everyone saying they need to learn the difference between "profit" and "revenue."

Christ, many businesses don't make a profit. But they're still businesses.

I read that. She made those decisions and actions the other day because that's what she felt was right in her hind and how she felt things should be dealt with. Apologies don't mean much when you you did something you wanted to do. I mean, I'm sure one is sorry afterwards when people ended up not agreeing with you.... too late. I just say she's young and can learn- it's a small town. I'm not saying she should be reprimanded or anything. Just a learning lesson for her. But, no- I don't think her apology means anything because she meant what she did.

Part of a leadership role is to gather facts before making decisions. A leader should not feel pressure by her/his position to make rash decisions, which was the case here. A good leader would have put the students on a short-leash until the circumstances were put together in the following hour. For example, maybe talking to the mayor in front of the school. A leader does not belittle a group of people.

She's got a lot to learn about "leadership."

In college one late night we couldn't find any beer pong (ping pong) balls and had been drinking so could not drive to the store to buy some. I went to the kitchen and rolled up balls of tin foil. Voila. Worked magically. Humans will make-do with whatever they can.

Yes, this crosswalk connecting SW/NW 20th Pl and Burnside is extremely dangerous. I've seen a couple of times where a car in the right lane (westbound) stopped for someone about to enter the crosswalk but the car in the left lane (also going westbound) is going full speed as the person walks past the car to the right....and at the same time both lanes travelling eastbound are going full speed.

It's terrible people are not stopping. It's aslo terrible people are playing Frogger at times. In this case, I don't think there should not be a crosswalk here period. It's just not a good place for one- and there a plenty of intersections with traffic lights right there. It's on a hill, with no flashing light indicators, one block from a major traffic light.

The Pearl is what it is. I don't think it blows because I think it's really great if you have high income and are in your 30's and up. It's also a great place for business lunches or dinners. It's mostly comprised of nice restaurants, condos, shops, and bars. Sounds good to me. Hey, I can't afford to own there, and in most respects the populace there are not the type of people I hang out with.

In a sense I consider the Pearl it's own sub-city. For the product it is I think it's great. But it's not indicitive of Portland. Personally, I really like what's been done with the half-mile stretch on Mississippi in recent times.

I got my job way back through Monster.com, before that I got a good paying internship in Germany through the UofO Germanic Languages Dept. What are you looking for? Craigslist is not a good place to look for a career position. Generally, when you apply for a good-paying position with a CV and resume you should expect to be contacted after roughly a week. Companies don't just look to cover a position and start calling or hiring as candidates apply. The longer the application process lasts the better options will increase. If you apply to a job and they call you back right away- it's going to be really low pay or a scam.

I'd suggest looking for jobs posted at your university's career website or alumni website.
