Totally should try to put something of a macro control. Local unemployment, income, etc. That'll influence it a lot.

as a doc, I cringe when people use the word science with things like economics and sociology.

This is fair. I'll be happy to concede that economics is, at best, a psuedo-science; there's no causal structure to our data, and most of the theoretical support offered is a comical, tautological result.

Your use of "doc" is ambiguous, are you a doctor of medicine? Are you a doctor of biology? Of physics? Please, elaborate.

Further I hate pompous ass holes that think they are gods gift to x field because they have a degree. Argue, don't try an appeal to authority to yourself.

I didn't say I was god's gift to economics; nor do I think I am, that would be this guy. (Also, where did I try to appeal as an authority?) From a statistical standpoint, economists do amazing work. Essentially, they are applied mathematicians/statisticians; those are scientists. They happen to use statistical processes to model human behavior, and it's often quite meaningful, but it's not the whole truth.

I believe in blogs more than science, I actually use house and greys anatomy as general guidelines and BS my way through the rest. cuaght me dr econometrician.

Sarcasm is a great way to win an argument. Also, your statements have, again, been attacking rather than thought invoking, thank you for that.

Well, I obviously can't convince you that I read this, but I read this (famous) paper during graduate school; it's a thorough treatment on the past literature trying to tease out the causal effects of schooling on income; in Card's paper, he uses twins (as a brief aside, David Card, professor of Economics at Berkeley has done a lot of great work looking at the effects of immigration and minimum wages). While the causal effect of schooling may not seem important to you, it is very important to people in policy. Why? Because there is very real interest in making causal inference from schooling on earnings. Policy makers want people to have higher income, and they want to be able to say, "If I change someone's human capital by some quantity, x, I can expect their income to change by y." That's important, science has proven quite useful for policy and for other such purposes. You may disagree with that, and that's fine, but there's no need to condescend me, or try to feel superior to people who have studied a subject more than you by attacking them. What you said above is empty; I simply made a humorous statement. You proceeded to mock me; brilliant.

It's clear you believe in blogs more than you believe in science, I hope that works out for you.

True love by Itsdaddysboyin funny

Indeed, old friend. Indeed.

As a boy, I never thought I would find love; who would have thought I would be wrong only a decade later. The sequence of events that led to my romantic endeavors were astonishing, to say the least. I was but a wee boy of 15 years old; ignorant of the body of a woman; ignorant on how to use my male gift; and, quite frankly, ignorant about how to hide my boner. This led to many initial problems, yet I was eager to learn and overcome my weaknesses. I studied hard; intently staring into the vagina of my true love, seeking the answers to all of life's mysteries. I practiced making love every opportunity I had; of course, not with my lover, she was a virgin at the time and I, too, had not yet entered my pipe into the jar of proverbially honey (Naturally, I used a teddy bear instead). I trained the art of ninja, and I managed to hide my boners thenceforth.

After months of training, the day finally came; I was finally prepared to make the proposition of congress. I professed my sweat love to her, and whispered softly, slowly into her ear, "My darling, my love for you is like diarrhea, I can't hold it in."

She wept, and we made love.

I still think about her; I have since moved on and found another, but I will never forget her. Her and her sweet bowel problems.

TL;DR, lost my virginity to the love of my life; she had diarrhea.

Yeah, I mean, I just dig people being happy, and not hurting anyone in the process. Especially if they're being nice while doing it. We should be proud of being a good person, not feel like you have to hide it.

I don't think it's fair for someone to enjoy who they are and for another human being to ridicule them for that; it seems contradicting. I mean, at first, I thought this dude sounded full of himself, but he's just happy; ain't nothing wrong with that. He also seems like a really nice guy, so, why throw hostility his way? I think we, as a people, contradict ourselves a lot; specifically, in that we feel sorrow for someone when they are insecure, socially inapt, or constantly in fear of talking. Then, we mock those who are the slightest bit proud of who they are. If someone's nice, and proud of who they are, then it doesn't matter! (On the other hand, if they're a dick, I can understand the hostility; no one likes a douche with an attitude). Anyways, my point here is that if someone is a good person, and they're proud of that, there's no need to hate.

TL; DR. Don't hate on this man's swag, he seems like a stand up guy.

Also, OP, I would note on word choice. I think you really believe you are awesome, and I think your definition of awesome is "a good person", which seems to be the case. Using the phrase, "I think I'm a good person" has a much less narcissistic tone than "I think I'm awesome." For some reason, people really hate the former, yet tolerate the latter. Either way, keep on keeping on.

Did you mean override the residuals? Sorry, I'm a little confused. But, I'll definitely reference them again, thanks, man. I appreciate it. I was just worried about the nonlinear part...maybe that'd make for an interesting paper.
