North Korean film exposes Western Propaganda [sic] by RoscoeMGin videos

[–]dutchct 1 point2 points ago

This will probably get buried.

A friend of mine from Busan (south korea) says the person in the video sounds like they have a southern accent.

It's probably a hoax.

I am Shane Smith, co-founder of VICE (magazine) and two-time traveler to North Korea. AMA. by ShaneVICEin IAmA

I agree with this comment. Shane seemed to over exaggerate a lot in the the North Korean show. He's the same as the rest of the sensationalist American media, just tailored to a younger generation.

My previous AMA. I've gone again since for Kim Jong Il's birthday last February. Might do another AMA when I finish editing the photos.

People have suggested a Mars mission could be done as a one way flight. Would you still go?

Hey guys, my buddy created website for mountain bike trails using Google Earth. And its free! Check it out. by dutchctin MTB

[–]dutchct[S] 3 points4 points ago

It's actually pretty damn slick. It allows user generated content, so you can submit your own trails for your area.

Also you can submit trail reports, so others can check the conditions before heading out.

Only caveat right now is that its limited to British Columbia. But I think he plans on opening it up to other regions. If you have GPS data for your region out side of BC, bet you could convince him to add it ;)

The price of bikes really varies with the build kit. If you go full xtr there is definitely a tax for that. If you go for the cheapest build you'll spend way less.

I think if you're just getting into it, look for a used one on pinkbike. That will make things a lot more accessible. And really, since you're so new to it, chances are you won't notice the difference.

Yeti SB66 frame size small

2012 fox talas 160

xtr shadow plus

xtr front der

xtr cassette

xtr shifters

industry 9 enduro wheels

spank pedals

thomson seat post and stem

specialized Phenom SL Saddle

formula the one brakes

xt rotors

tubeless 2.35 nevegal and 2.5 minion (used this gheto method, works well so far)

People should be aware the the sb66 is a fairly long bike compared to other bikes. Normally I would ride a medium, but I ended up going for the small. I'm 5'11.

Actually that's an interesting question. Outside it looks more yellow, but inside with incandescent light it looks more green/lime.

Yeti actually calls the color "Lime".

I used this cheap version of tubeless last night, held up on the ride today. So far so good.
