I'm not sure why the pharmacy thing.

I wonder if it had anything to do with Prohibition. During that era pharmacists were the only legal way to get booze; a doctor had to say you were in need of it for medical reasons. Maybe the pharmacy thing is an old carry-over from laws back then.

Just to play Devil's advocate....It looks like she's trying to get the baby some help. That said, it looks like one of those fwd things that don't work anyway ("Facebook is ready to pay 3 cents for every share."), but perhaps her heart was in the right place. Some people are naive and don't realize FB/AOL/Bill Gates or whoever else isn't gonna pay any cents if you pass it on. The girl who posted it looks very young, no more than a teenager. If that's the case, she probably thought she was helping and didn't think it would offend anyone, especially because that picture is nowhere near sexualized. It's hard for me to believe that anyone would post that maliciously, but it's definitely in poor taste.

On another note, I'm more horrified at what that poor baby must be feeling with that on her body. God, it looks so freaking painful! My heart goes out to her and her parents. I can't imagine how awful it must be to watch your child with something like that and not be able to do anything.

You're right. One of the suggestions in the article said to try to pick characters that greet people at the Disney parks. From what it looks like from some of the comments on the page there's another address for the CA park. I don't know where to look for that one, but it sounded like different parks could reply from different characters. So if McQueen didn't work at the address you sent to, maybe it would work from the other one. Not sure, but that's what the impression I got.

I'm not sure if this type of submission is a no-no. Sorry if it is; I just couldn't think of another place that parents of younger kids might be more apt to see it. I tried submitting to freebies, but it got caught in the spam filter, even though it's legit.

I've always wished that the option to have a profile like you described was available. Over the years, I've seen the same arguments against having it ("this isn't fb", etc), and they've never made sense. If someone doesn't want to put a pic or other info up, that's great. But if someone wants to, having the option would be nice.

I'm sure there are more than one. However, Santa Cruz isn't unreasonably far from Oroville, so the one you linked to feasibly could have been the same one.

Say someone speaks only Russian their whole life; then one day they learn English. Chances are they're going to have a pretty thick accent, even if their English is good. Given that accent, a lot of words will come out sounding somewhat different; a lot of those will definitely be words that are pluralized. However, I'm sure that if they were to say the exact same thing in their native language, the pluralization would be noticed for sure.
